What a great app!
Recently, while working on a project to digitize some small glass negatives I found myself wishing I had a light box to get a better look at them. While doing some internet research I ran across a forum that mentioned using an iPad for a light box. What a great idea, and as I already had my beloved iPad I rushed to the App Store and "Viola!" here was Light Pad HD! What a bargain for $1.99. Obviously you need to be careful not to scratch your screen and luckily these glass negatives were frame mounted. Light Pad HD is a great example of being able to use the iPad to replace yet another mechanical piece of equipment. The app has pre-set templates for standard slides and negative strips and a template you can customize for special sizes. Thanks for this app!
Simple, Practical, Useable
Downloaded this app to use as a "light table" for a film scanning project that included 35mm, 645, 6x7, and 6x8 transparencies. It did just want I wanted/expected it to do without hassle or complications. Works perfectly on full size iPad screen. Would have given it 5 stars if it automatically rescaled the light patches to be the correct size when running on the smaller iPad Mini screen.
This app is perfect. The templates are a bit overkill since all we really need is a white glowing screen. I always use the full screen mode no matter what I am viewing.
Oh, and ignore the review complaining that it can't do full screen, it can. That reviewer is wrong.
