Kind of works sometimes
I only have the GardenSpot & Gateway but half the time it says only connected through cloud. The user interface is pretty complicated to figure out. I hate these smart lighting apps that have a section for “scenes” with extremely limited options like this one.
While on the scene subject... there’s a small handful of default dynamic scenes available for the gardenspot but the fact that you cannot create your own (and lack of a third party app that is compatible and reliable) makes me want to wrap the lights around my neck. The color switcher is extremely touchy & getting some pretty standard colors is an uphill battle each time.
Yes it’s compatible with smart home hubs like Smartthings but having to disconnect from the Lightify Gateway first is counterproductive. If there is a firmware update, you must remove from Smartthings & re-pair with Lightify Gateway to update. If you want it back, you then must remove from Gateway before it can be discoverable on any other Hub.
Super disappointed because the lights give off some great power & really light up my backyard.
I really hope that they are re-designing these. If the lights had a snap on connection (like regular low voltage led lighting) so you could get the spacing you want between each light, these would be amazing.
If wishing worked, this would be awesome
I have tried, tried some more and then tried again. No... The Osram technology and app interface is something to avoid, if possible. I’ve had about 8 components going on more than 2 years and have always kept the software updated. It’s just not reliable. Most of the time, about half the items respond to commands and about 20 percent of the time, my lights are flashing like crazy because they magically lost control of the hub (again). Yes, the light are well within range of the hub. It’s just glitchy. When I bought this system and saw some of the negative reviews, I figured those people just weren’t good with technology. Ha!
I was about to give up and take my lights out when I decided to try connecting them to a Smart Things Hub. It actually works much better and has been fairly reliable for the past month! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that th very expensive components I bought from Osram don’t have to be replaced. However, I will distance myself away from Osram products in the future.
For those of you pulling your hair out with the fact that this stuff never works, try connecting your Osram technology to a SmartThings App and Hub. I can attest that it works much better for the garden-spot and flood lights.
Crappy App.. Dishonest Company
This is definitely about the app, their software and their competition. The physical product I use is amazing and would rate a 5 star. The company itself is a lieing and manipulative corporate pr scammer. For the longest time they blamed phillips hue for their products not being compatible with their devices. Their website still even claims it's phillips not releasing zigbee 3.0 compatability which would make their non light link devices work on the hue bridge in the US.
Well, zigbee 3.0 has been out on the hue bridge now for 2 or 3 months and lightify products are still incompatible. The company also refused to explain and told me when I called that I need to contact phillips because it's not their problem.
Sorry, but it IS your problem. Your amazing product is supported and run by the worst piece of trash app I've ever seen and there aren't even any 3rd party alternatives to use. This is what you call an out of touch company that is more skilled in lieing with PR spin to make their competition look like the bad guy.
