We also added a new setting to help with connection issues. If you are experiencing problems with the application’s connection to the OnSite server, you can activate “Modern Connection” in the iPad Settings app under “Lightspeed.” Please contact Support if you continue to experience connection issues.

Slick App Brings New Opportunities to your Retail Experience
I've been very happy with Lightspeed's mobile app for iPhone/iPod for performing quick transactions without a cash wrap, but I've always wanted a little more. This new iPad app answers those wishes merging the functionality of their mobile and desktop product into a fast, elegant, and easy to use app. Show and tell is a useful tool for showing products that we may not have currently on the showroom floor. I would like to see an option to lock the app in show and tell mode in order to leave it on the showroom floor and allow customers to browse on their own. I'd presume this is only the beginning of new and exciting abilities Lightspeed can open up with the iPad.
For those that go straight to the reviews and neglect to read the requirements for the app I'd point out that this app only works in conjunction with Lightspeed's Mac POS software. They do offer a free demo on their website if you want to give it a try. It's been a great success at my retail store.
Very Impressed Lightspeed!
Just started working with this application! WOW so much better than Lightspeed iPhone mobile. Functional, yes! Ability to replace a workstation, possible, if you are handy with your iPad(you still have to have one Mac running the Lightspeed Server). Fast, cannot believe how fast this application is, from logging in to taking payment this is Lightspeed quick(haha).
Things that might be useful but not really a problem without:
-ability to make a quote
-access to the options tab when creating an invoice(I know this is a Point Of Sale mode iPad app and the options tab is a browser function but it would be very beneficially for the way I use lightspeed)
-when creating a customer it would be nice to click the photo and take a picture of them right then
Also, for those of you who are going to post that you have to purchase a extra user license for $749, that is true IF you want to keep the same number of computers accessing lightspeed in addition to having the iPad logged in at the same time. You could just log out one of the users at one of the checkout computers and log into the iPad. Which is definitely worth it because customers are very impressed when you can do the check out process on the mighty iPad!
Other than those few nit picky things I have to say I have never seen such a polished v1.0 app every released.
Needs more functionality
It's a great flow, but I need to be able to fix, adjust, or modify existing things as well. If I am working with a returning customer and they want me to update their phone number to give them a call I can't do it from the mobile app. This is way to limiting.
It needs to be able to do more and handle more. Once I have my credit card swipe for my iPad I want to be able to use this as my primary source of work within my system. I only want to use the main computer if I am doing PO's, or creating products. However if I need to make a change to a product, or customer I think it should be able to happen directly from the iPads.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
