Was basically good, but had a few issues over the last 6 months. Was thinking over switching fully from Google voice, but gladly didn't. Listen suddenly became a paid service with just a single option of paying 10 bucks per month. No tiers, no free limit, just pay a single rate which is quite high by competing standards. I use iMessage, FaceTime, Whatsapp mainly, but occasionally need a proper voice/SMS service without paying for monthly plans. I have used the Google voice/Hangouts combo, but it has its limitations. So when Listen came out, I decided to give it a try. I liked it which I reflected in my original review, but I remained wary to fully rely on Listen before seeing its business and monetization model.
Well, now that it's fully out, I had to delete my account as my usage level doesn't justify the rate they offer.

I have tried a good amount of second line apps and features. This has beat everyone out. The best I have found before this was a basic plain UI with your number remains active for 30 days. If you use it within that time it resets the limit. This app has NO LIMIT like that. You get a number and it's yours. No fees per month or subscriptions which is a HUGE PLUS since I only use this number for a couple text a day to reach out to people. Because of my usage I would not want to pay $5 a month for those messages. I appreciate this service and will continue to use it. Did I mention they don't crowd you with ads either?
Great app, but too expensive
I really like this app, but it's hard to justify paying $10 a month when Google Voice is completely free and has most of the same features. I do think this app is superior to Google Voice, but even if Listen had a full-featured web app in addition to the phone app, I'd personally only be willing to pay about $5/month.
