Great product (Open Air III), app is lacking
Our router crashed and the litter robot did not reconnect automatically. Directions online said that the option to reconnect is in the settings, which I didn't find. Ended up uninstalling app, deleting the litter robot, reinstalled app, signed back in went thru the reconnect process, took 4 times and one unplug/plug back in to get the litter robot's Wi-Fi finally to come back on. Finally got it reconnected. Maybe didn't need to go through all those steps, but reconnecting was not automatic nor quick and easy.
Have found that on a few occasions the cycle hasn't run and there is still waste sitting in the robot. Happened during a weekend camping trip. Luckily the cats had a backup box.
Otherwise, have found that with 2 cats that use the robot an average of 4 times a day, I'm switching out bags every couple of days. Beats scooping and the box doesn't get stinky. Reduced us down from 3 litter boxes to the robot and a backup box.

If the Litter-Robot goes offline for more than 24 hours, it may need a reboot (unplug from base and plug back in) and it should go back online once it's done cycling. If it's been less than 24 hours, it should reconnect automatically.
If the unit's not emptying waste after the kitty's use it, it sounds like a cat sensor issue (non app related) and may need to be repaired. If you're still experiencing this issue, please contact customer service at firstname.lastname@example.org or 877-250-7729.
App Improvement Suggestion!
I have had LRIII connect for a week. My 5-month-old/5 lb 2oz kitten had no issues switching to this litter box and it detects her at barely over 5lbs. I put her cardboard scratcher, which is about 3 inches high, in front of the step so she could get in easier.
I’ve had no issues with the LR III or the app itself so far, but I do have a suggestion to improve the app:
When I open the drawer and then close it, the LRIII begins a cycle. Or, it will cycle when I’m familiarizing myself with the buttons and accidentally start a cycle. In either case, I immediately press restart so it doesn’t go through the entire cycle. However, the app still records both instances as a cycle, which ruins the stats for tracking cat uses within the app.
For example, the app says my kitten has used the litter box 7 times so far today when she has only used it 4 times. I unintentionally started a cycle 3 times. There is no way for me to manually change these stats, or even record notes to remind myself that three of the cycles weren’t triggered by actual litter box use.
I suggest there be a way to manually delete within “History” certain cleaning cycles or events so it doesn’t ruin the stats!

Thank you for the feedback. We will pass this along to the app development team. As of right now though, if you look at the history, you can at least tell the difference between a cycle you started vs kitty. It would say "manual cycle" if you started it. If it just says "cycle", it was an automatic one and should follow the "cat sensor timing" alert.
Good Product but App Needs Help
While I love my litter robot III I dislike the functionality of the app. When the box is emptied the app still shows it as full and you have to manually reset it (sometimes it takes a few tired to take). In addition, you can lock out the key panel on the box but you CAN’T control those functions from the app. This is quite silly - why can’t the functionality to reset the box within the app be developed?? When I travel, there are often times where the cat sitter doesn’t know or forgets to press the reset button and the box won’t cycle. There isn’t even the possibility to manually cycle the box from the app as the app believes the box is full even though it is empty. PLEASE consider bringing in this feature as this would make the app and box so much better for users.

Thanks for the feedback! We're sorry you've had these issues. We will definitely pass this long to our developer.
