Lively - Export Live Photo to GIF and Movie
By Tiny Whale Pte. Ltd.
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Make GIF and Movie from your Live Photos.
Lively lets you make GIF and Movie from Live Photos at ease. You can now share your Live Photos with your friends on iMessage, Facebook Messenger, Twitter, Slack, Tumblr and more.
Lively gives you full control of your GIFs with extensive editing features: trim, play backward, auto reverse and speed control. GIF size too big? You can make it smaller too. Last by not least, full 3D Touch support. Gotta press that screen.
Oh, you can pick a single frame from the video part to save. Your child moves right the moment you take the shot? No worry, just grab the right frame from the video. All that, with correct metadata as the original Live Photo.
Lively lets you export for free with a watermark. A single in-app purchase allows you to remove the watermark.
Important: You need an iPhone 6S/6S Plus or above to capture Live Photos. You can still use the app on older iPhone, just get your friends to send you one via iMessage.
What's New in Version 2.0.2
Some bug fixes:
- Fix a crash on iOS version less than 9.1.
- Fix an issue with no thumbnail is displayed on iPad.
If you enjoy the GIFs (who doesn't?), please consider to take a moment to leave a review in the App Store. This helps put Lively in front of more people, plus we really enjoy reading your feedback (and praise).
2.0.1 change log:
- Fix iCloud Photo Library bug. Apologize for this taking so long.
- Reduce memory usage & fix crash in GIF action extension.
- Extensions now work with synced Live Photos from your Mac (or PC).
- Correct orientation for GIFs from synced Live Photos.
- The return of 1.5x speed option (hello @tal).
The GIFs feature works just fine with settings that give you nice user control over the animated GIF. All you have to do is save it to your camera roll. Once you text it to someone the GIF animates. There are no GIFs that animate in your camera roll. Apple doesn't allow it to happen.
Saved Frames Disappear After Import
So, was excited to use this app to edit photos of a trip I recently took with a friend. After going through all Live Photos and saving the frames I wanted, I then plugged in my iPhone into my computer to import them into Photos. All of my Lively saved photos didn't show up, and since I selected "delete after import", they just disappeared. Seems faulty if you spend so much time editing that it doesn't come through with a simple import...
Doesn't recognize cropped photos
This app works as advertised with the limitations of iOS however for some reason it doesn't list any live photo which was edited or cropped. Neither does their other app called Lean.
