Livescribe+ pairs with your Livescribe 3 smartpen to instantly sync everything you write on paper directly onto your iPhone or iPad. Your notes become more useful, more quickly when they’re organized, tagged, searchable, and converted to text.
Notes, sketches, diagrams and drawings created with your Livescribe 3 smartpen show up instantly in Livescribe+.
Access your notes in 3 different views to get more out of them: (1) Page View shows your notebooks and pages exactly as they were written. (2) Feed View organizes your notes into smaller, actionable snippets sorted in a timeline. (3) Pencast View allows you to play back audio recordings synced to your notes so you can hear what was said exactly when you were writing.
Convert your handwritten notes into text to transform them into tasks, reminders, calendar events, new contacts and more. Import shared pages or snippets into Adobe Illustrator or any other vector drawing app, and work directly with your own hand-drawn artwork. Paper-to-vector path is an industry first!
Create pencasts and add photos and typed memos directly in Livescribe+ to add more depth and context to your written notes. Save your pencasts as video and play them back anywhere, or use iMovie or any other video editor to easily create great lectures and presentations.

Too Buggy to Earn the Awesome it should be
I am on my 4th LiveScribe device. I had a Pulse, then an Echo, then the Sky, and now the oddly named 3 (because its the fourth device). In any case, I love the Evernote integration, and the Bluetooth sync, and the appreciable battery life. I have a few hardware and software issues. My pen arrived with a crack in it. I never bothered to swap it out, but I thought that was sort of bush league. The software for some reason, all of my notes sync to Evernote as if they are occurring on the correct date and time ... in the year 2020. There are no settings that can help me change this, and no response from Support on their FaceBook page. Finally, the application crashes. Frequently. Meaning, you open the app, and it acquires the pen and starts syncing, and then just closes. For no reason. This shut down behavior has increased in frequency over the past few months and updates. I have only 4 notebooks synced, and I have plenty of free memory on my iPad. Not sure why this would occur, but Syncing is why I purchased the $250 pen in the first place, so the flakiness there is alarming to say the least. Starting to make me wonder if the company is slowly withdrawing resources and support for their products.
Fix the pencast crashes!
I love using this pen and app for school. But the app crashes frequently, so a lot of my pen casts are split into a bunch of segments. I also find it incredibly annoying that when I unpause a recording on the notebook, I have to unlock my iPad for the recording to actually start up again. This pen and app have really helped for taking notes in grad school, but please work out some of these kinks on the app! Recently, my pen casts will stop and will not save, so I've lost several hours of lecture recordings, which is incredibly frustrating!!!
Update for Sept 2016 update: While slightly better with smoothness, the pen casts crashing and not saving is still an issue. Please fix this!!! It use to be that the app would say "your pen cast got interrupted", but has only done that once and has killed 2 or 3 pen casts since the update. Not only that, but now the app freezes when I try to listen in a pen cast. Seriously, how hard is it to make an app that ha tally does what it is supposed to do?! And not adding iCloud or device sharing capabilities is really making me regret ever purchasing this thing in the first place. Get it together!
App worked great but I think you can do way more to the app to helps students out including those with learning disabilities. I would like to see a automated file backup system added such as one drive that way if my tablet broke or got stolen all of my files are backed up were I can access them. Also would like to start seeing multi color options as well and a wirless mic option as well for those times were a lecture needs to be recorded but the room you are in is so large it would be hard to get the best recording possable. Also add support for one note to import both the audio and the live handwriting this way it would appear as native as it was created in live scribe making it easer to share in a class notebook. ALso i would like to see a option to store archived netbooks on some sort of hosted system so that we can store them in some sort of place so that we are not dealing with devise storage limits this away all notes including auto can be store somewhere to be pulled down if they need to be added back to make changes
