Customer Reviews

Why oh why do I have to log in each time I launch the app?!?

Since “updating” the app, I am forced to log in each time I open the app.

UPDATED: after seeing another review that states to delete the app and reinstall, I did so, and it MIGHT have fixed it. (quitting and re-launching app 30 seconds later might not be the most robust test to ensure things are fixed)

This highly user-unfriendly move compounds another major gestural problem with the app that has NEVER worked right: Using the 4-finger/5-finger swipe upward shortcut on iPad to view all open apps (the gestural equivalent of pressing the home button twice).

Instead of moving the current window up in order to display other open apps, the app interprets the fingers/gestures as some change to the controls. Changing the music selection, fast forwarding to the next one, switching the volume, moving the playback head to a different position. Oh, and yeah, the other open apps are displayed, but only after messing with the selection now playing.

The multi-gesture breakage has trained me to push the home button twice.

I think that the “must log in each time you use it” behavior will train me to use any other option (the web interface on computer, or handheld device), or abandon this app altogether for a different alternative.

Works well for me with no logins req'd

I just installed it and it works well with my squeezebox duet. And I don't have to login each time I start the app, like so many other reviewers have experienced. I noticed the install instructions say if you have a previous version you should uninstall that first, maybe that'a behind the repeated login prompts. Anyway, the app seems to work as expected, it certainly is faster and more convenient than the duet controller. Press and hold individual songs for a few seconds to bring up the action menu. There are some minor annoyances - like sometimes long titles are not displayed correctly - but overall works just fine for 90% of my squeezebox control needs.

Works fine!

This app works. No issues with having to log in every time. I have only one device, squeezebox boom, so I don't have any issues with multiple devices. The interface is pretty straight forward, although I've been using for many years now so maybe a first time user would have a learning curve. The app is stable running on iPad and iPod through multiple IOS upgrades, with hardly any crashes even when pushed to the background. Really no issues it just works. Too bad Logitech has abandoned this product line. Sonos is the only game in town now, they have a nice product but very pricey.
