News for Ignition users

On 08-Mar-18, I received an e-mail from Log Me In stating that Ignition will be retired on 08-Apr-18. To continue using this app, we are instructed to migrate back to the LogMeIn app before 08-Apr-18.

The good news: The LogMeIn app now functions for us “legacy users” of Ignition. Prior to this, LogMeIn would NOT work, even for “legacy” Ignition users, without a paid subscription.

Also good news: Previous versions of LogMeIn work on iOS 6 and iOS 9 platforms.

Now, the bad news: LogMeIn no longer appears to support audio streaming from the host computer. For many folks, this might not be a big deal. But since streaming from my home computer is a large part of what I use LogMeIn for, this is terrible news.

Not known: Would a paid subscription to LogMeIn restore this capability to LogMeIn? Known: LogMeIn subscriptions are terribly pricey - a reason people were buying Ignition at $999!

Team Viewer does pretty much everything LogMeIn and Ignition did - for free (personal use; subscriptions available for businesses) - and, as such, has moved to Plan A for me.

LogMeIn has pretty much become Plan B, especially with the loss of functionality migrating from Ignition to the LogMeIn app.

As for me, I purchased Ignition when it still cost $30 - and it has always been like an “old friend.” Anymore these days, and it’s starting to look like it’s time to say adieu...

Great app from a terrible company.

LogMeIn have always put their customers 2nd, maybe 3rd, 4th, 5th? I too paid $30 for Ignition (right before they jacked up the price to over $100!!! and it has always worked perfectly. I use file transfer, I listen to audio from my computer, I store files on my iPad using the local files feature and now this is all being taken away from me for no reason other than greed. I had a LogMeIn subscription once. Then one day I received a mail telling me they were jacking up the prices to offer me a load of crap I didn’t want or need. I cancelled immediately. I don’t think I've ever purchased something only to have it taken away from me (company shutdowns excluded r.i.p. Boxee Box). I’m surprised there’s not more of an uproar. The app works, I paid for it but on April 9th you’re going to deny me access . Nothing about this is ethical. Everything about this is shady, greedy and dumb. I think we should be refunded at the very least.

Final update broke the app, fix it...

For several years now I have used LogMeIn on PC's along with Hamachi. This app is a MUST for any iPad user. There is nothing bad that can be said about Ignition, not even the price, well worth every penny. The file manager was an added bonus for me since I was just getting the app for the remote desktop function, but I use the file manager even more than the desktop (grin).

Don't even give it a thought, buy this and you will be VERY happy you did. It's a must have app.
Thank you for the final update which broke the app. I will NEVER pay for LogMeIn Pro. Fix the app, it crashes while loading. It was usable before the final update.
