Ancient Languages - λόγος

If you are interested in the Bible in Hebrew, Aramaic / Chaldee / Targum, Greek and other ancient languages, Logos is an excellent resource. For instance, I can select a word and view possible definitions in half a dozen lexicons. I find myself purchasing Logos electronic books that I already have hard copies to, because of the way they are linked to my lexicons. It is not cheap, however. The people who work at Logos are great. I would love it if Logos would build more mirror apps such as Vyrso so I could use one resource just for Hebrew, another just for Greek, and a few more to read some of my favorite resource books. I have been a λόγος fan for many years, now. So, if you are interested in 'the Word,' הדבר, you will be pleased. [Update. It has been a very long time since I reviewed this app and wanted to say, keep up the fantastic work]. Suggestion: anyway to listen to Buth's Hebrew recordings in my app? Or look up words in my Hebrew Lexicons?

It's good's sister companies are lacking!

Updated review from 2-4 stars.

I felt like I needed to give an update on my previous review.

I reduced the rating on Logos overall because of the poor service from Proclaim. It's a presentation software that can be purchased. Their handling of our credit cards and accounts has been very poor. Charging twice, doubling our accounts and refusing refunds forcing us into 2 years of service that we didn't even request.

Logos is a good source but the cost is somewhat inflated. The cost of the program and the packages is a real deterrent. I am not a fan of the never ending updates that seem to happen daily. I would also point out that the program randomly crashes at will.
I would also like to tell you the app is a strong point but it's not. It is cumbersome and not user friendly.

I find myself using my you-version bible app a lot more than I do my logos app while I'm on the go.

Update: Scott Alexander with Faithlife saw this review and immediately refunded the charge and apologized for the confusion. A few days later he emailed me again and told me they were changing their entire refund policy to better serve the customer. Great response and a very personal approach. I was very impressed with Scott and his willingness to go the extra mile.

Search makes no sense

I almost exclusively use logos on my iPad Pro. You can split the logos screen to have your Bible open while reading another text. It also works with the iPad's split screen technology, so I can be working in a Microsoft product like Word and have logos open in another screen. You can download resources to use them offline.

My biggest frustration with logos is the search function. I've tried different methods, but I can't figure out the logic it is using in ordering search results. It is especially frustrating because really powerful search technology exists and we use it everyday.

I would love to see logos add support for the Apple Pencil. It would be great to be able to use the pencil to highlight text, underline, write notes, etc.
