Lomo Studio brings great lomography effects to your Mac desktop. Allows you to transform any normal photograph into a quirky lomo masterpiece in seconds. Images are great for posting to your Facebook, Flickr, your blog, or anywhere else you like to share photos.
The "lomo effect" is achieved by applying various image filters (which you have fine-tuned control over) in a way that mimics the lenses, flash, film and film processing of the best lomo cameras.
- 6 fun frame styles to chose from (portrait and landscape).
- Frames include both photo paper style and film roll style.
- Color and black & white film styles as well as sepia effect.
- Quick controls make styling a photo fast and easy.
- Advanced controls allow you to fine-tune the results and achieve extra-special effects.
- Opens most standard image files (jpg, png, tiff, etc).
- Save images as jpg, png or tiff.
Lomo Studio is now on sale (for the launch of Lomo Studio+). Get it now for $9.99!
Over Priced, Underperfoms
It does not allow you to choose what level to save the image at, but instead reduces all file sizes to about 300kb. If you save one image as say, "Photo_A" and then work on that image some more and want to save it, it'll simply override the previously saved image, it doesn't give you the option to rename the image "Photo_B".
It is also very slow, there are no drop down menues so you have to scroll through every possible option just to get to the one you are looking for. Vintage Scene is a much better app than this. Also the frames aren't adjustable, so it severly crops your original image.
Do not under any circumstances buy this or Lomo Studio +!
The developers have apparently repackaged this, maybe even fixed it, and have released a new version at the same price as this app, the original. They have thereby excluded previous customers from upgrading or commenting on the poor quality of this app on the page for the identically-priced "+" version. I would strongly advise against supporting this developer - they seem something less than reputable.
little bang for the buck
I was sucked in by the Lomo name, but that's where the thrill ends. The app doesn't really do anything special.
