Loop Raccord uses cinematographic language and video editing logic as gameplay. Players get into a flow as they gain mastery at this a simple, abstract task that is transformed into a compelling interactive experience.

--Totally unique and never seen before game mechanic--
--With three game modes: Classic, Two Players and Neverending--
--Randomly generated levels offer infinite replayability--
--GameCenter leaderboards and achievements--
--featuring video clips form old American TV shows--

Inspired by the work of Peter Greenaway and exploring traditional video editing techniques, Loop Raccord harkens back to the era of “interactive cinema” while at the same time introducing a unique and original way to interact with the film medium. Beyond its fun and engaging gameplay, players will learn basic video editing knowledge and will discover how to achieve a crucial but widely unknown cinema effect: the illusion of continuity.

"I don't even know what I'm looking at. Is it art? How is this even a game? Is it broken? Is it saying something revelatory? I have no idea what you've made or what you've accomplished here, but whatever the hell this is, you've succeeded." - Independent games festival judge

Odd but unique game

I downloaded this game after hearing about it on a podcast (App Slappy, I think). I was intrigued by the unique game play as I hadn't heard of a game remotely close to this. The goal is to take small snippets of video (around 1-2 seconds in length) and adjust the playing of the videos so that each one syncs with a new vdeo. So, for example, if you see someone walking up steps in one video, and in a new video you see a person shoveling something, you have to figure out how to connect the two videos so that you see a continuous motion between them. After you were successful at that, a new video would open up and you'd have to sync the person doing the shovling with a vide of something else, such as a woman walking or a cartoon character falling.

It sometimes took me a while to figure out how to sync two videos, and there were a few syncs that I got just by guessing because I couldn't figure out the pattern. Most of them, however, I was able to figure out.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the background music/noise. It's there to try to confuse you, apparently, but it's so repetitive that I ended up turning the volume down completely.

I would recommend the game if you're looking for something different. It's not often that something this unique hits the app store.

Weird awesome game
