Nice App, Poor Support
The app itself, LoopSurvey Business, I liked. It linked to the iPad easily, allowed me to edit the survey via the website, and then instantly synced it to the device. With that said, I’m extremely disappointed in the communication and support of the developers. We needed to put together a survey for an event a week away, so we attempted to contact the developers about pricing, which at the time was not stated anywhere on their site or in the app store. The contact form on their website asks how you plan to be using the app (for a one time survey or multiple events throughout the year), making it sound like there were multiple pricing tiers.
Unfortunately, we didn't receive a response prior to our event. We ran the survey as planned (which worked great, by the way) and synced the submissions from the iPad, but the online dashboard informed us that we had received too many submissions for the trial period, and would be locked out of our survey results until paying. This limitation wasn't mentioned anywhere inside the app or on the website—it was only mentioned at the bottom of the email you receive after creating an account. One of the developers finally contacted us after hitting the trial limit, asking "Is this for a one time survey or ongoing use thru the year?". We were eventually told that LoopSurvey Business actually isn't meant for one-time surveys, and the price is $300/year. Why wasn't that made clear on the website, and why does the developer ask if it's for a one time survey? I found that to be rather misleading. We tried working something out with him but he eventually stopped responding to our emails.
To be fair, the developer's website has now been updated with a Pricing section, which did not exist when we ran our survey. It includes most of the information that should have been on the site in the first place, so it looks like they've taken my suggestions to heart.
