We’ve added metric measurements so you can convert your weight, height, distance and energy into the units of your choice! Just go to Me > More > Units and make your selections.
Health Kit Integration
We can now read blood pressure and read/write blood glucose from Health Kit. While we were at it, we also fixed a couple of HealthKit related issues.
We’ve fine-tuned the EDIT button on the log to make re-ordering your daily log even more intuitive.
It told me to drink more alcohol
I really like this app. It has so many useful metrics that help correct behavior. Somewhat flawed though- the app picked up that on a pattern - (I am a student ((figuratively)) of the exercise and health game- I know what time it is and I use this app as a tool and a helpful assistant.) - on days I drink beer, liquor or wine I am aware that these account for useless empty calories, so I eat less to offset their impact on my goal towards creating a caloric deficit combining exercise and proper eating. The app notice this and ENCOURAGED me to DRINK MORE ALCOHOL- what!?!?! Ludicrous- it should encourage me to drink less and make a better choice by eating nutrient dense low caloric healthy foods. Please fix this. I worry for those that may not have an educational background in health and physiology and actually take all the advice the app offers as the gospel. Do your homework please- find articles from science journals written by real scientists- (not fake ones that write for magazines that you find in the grocery store) or find someone that is credible to do your homework for you. Stay healthy and keep grinding. Life is short but can be made longer living healthy.
THE app for weight loss and maintenance
Lose It! Is the perfect tool/companion/tracker for losing weight and keeping it off! After years of not being able to lose weight, I (sensibly) lost 130 pounds by setting Lose It! to have me lose 1 1/2 lbs/week. It took 18 months, and I have now kept it off for FOUR years by continuing to use LoseIt! every day. It made me so much more aware of what, when, and how I eat and exercise -- not just how much. It has been an important tool to help me make the changes I needed to make to lose weight and live a more healthy life. It's gotten even better over the years with the two-way integration with Apple's Health App and great reminders on your Apple Watch -- excellent additions to LoseIt's functionality!
P.S. The tweaks in the last update to the editing function for logged food and exercise have helped a great deal (even though I still liked it better before it was moved to the bottom).
I (re)started my weight loss "journey" in July and wonder now why I had ever stopped using Lose It! It's a great app and has continued to improve. Very easy to find foods, add foods, and create meals (if you are like me you eat the same things often and don't want to keep entering each food each time). I love how this app "talks" to my UpBand without me having to do anything to make that happen. My UpBand keeps track of the quality of the food I eat on the same screen as it tracks my movement and sleep. Lose It! tracks my exercise and gives me extra calories as I earn them. They seem to have a very nice relationship focused on helping me reach my goal of getting healthier.
Look, the research is pretty clear at this point: people who track their weight and food choices lose weight better and have a better chance of keeping it off. Lose It! makes doing that easier. What more do you need to know?
