Great app. It really helps me recognize how many calories are in the foods I eat and helps me make better choices. It also helps me understand how many calories I need to burn before going out to dinner!! Lost 20 lbs using this app. But I keep using it to help maintain and knock off the weight that can creep back on. Love the app!! Happy to now have the barcode scanner as well. I'm addicted. I've been using it for nearly 6 years. If I can't find my phone to enter my food items, I get stressed. It's part of my routine. It keeps me straight. I'm not always eating well. But at least I know it and can get back on track. I was amazed at how many calories some foods have. I recommend it to all my friends who want to lose weight. I like the new trends feature as well and the advice on what foods to eat. Great app!!
I've been using it since 2010. It's easy to get hooked and keeps me honest. I can see when I'm out of control, so it brings me back to reality and helps me drop the weight back off. Good tool for both losing and maintaining.
I am now down 35 pounds, 30 of them since joining Lose It in March 2016. Great tool. I would be lost without it. I weigh and measure and keep track daily. So after using Lose it for an entire year I am maintaining my 35 pound weight loss. I upgraded to premium for a year in February 2017 only because there was a special deal. I love Lose it and now I can plan my meals in advance. I will continue to use this app to help me maintain my weight. It is now April almost May 2017 and I have lost an additional 4 lbs. since upgrading to premium. Not much, but I didn't need to lose anymore because I have reached my goal and been maintaining my weight. I joined the gym and have also been able to sync my Lose it app with my Fitbit tracker for added success.
Newest update- more than 1/2 my entries are missing. Can’t see my challenges, my insights, badges, friends. Some screens completely blank. I have had premium for almost a year and because of this I am extremely disappointed. I have shut down my phone in hopes to be able to see all of my information again and NOTHING. I am so :( I love Lose it but this is the worst. Please fix or advise me how to fix it. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem.
Lose it is a valuable tool
I have always read that those who track what they eat are the most successful at weight loss. Now that I've been using Lose It! as my logbook, I have found that it is true! It really does make you accountable in that if you are faithful about logging and really want to hit your goals, this tool lets you see your running calorie intake, which adds up more quickly than most of us realize! But it goes beyond calorie counting, and lets you see your nutrient balance for several items (fat, protein, carbs, etc.). It helps identify patterns so that even though you might be sticking to a 1200 cal per day diet, that you're still eating in healthy proportions.
I also enjoy the challenges. Being able to see the status helps keep me motivated.
There are two additions I’d like to see that would make this app ideal. The first is to be able to set your daily calories manually. I don’t like that as I lose weight it continues to decrease my daily calorie goal, where I am now well below the recommended daily minimum of 1200. Adjusting the amount of weight I wish to lose per week causes it to jump to 1350, which doesn’t work for me either. Even if I choose to eat and log 1200 a day, and know that that is the proper amount, seeing the red numbers morning that I am over is hard to see, and not be bothered by mentally.
I would also appreciate some sort of reminder at the end of the day to check "finished logging for the day".
