Creative interactive story and gameplay!

After now having played a variety of games from Big Fish and other similar companies, I am upgrading this from four to five stars. I just purchased the sequel which reminded me how interesting, imaginative, unpredictable and quirky this is compared to most other games. So far, this is the only game at Big Fish, I would give five stars to. My original review is below.

I think of this as more of an interactive book because it is very easy for a "game." It holds your hand, telling you exactly what to do at each step so it is very easy, yet still fun. The mini game puzzles get extremely repetitive and some I just skipped entirely because I wanted to rush to get back to the interesting story.

The game is extremely long, I kept thinking it was over, but then it wasn't. The end, or what I'm assuming is the end Is the hardest part and I got so frustrated, I had to stop and will try again when I'm less tired.

If you like sci-fi and mysteries, you should like the story, but if you like challenging games, this may be too easy, but personally I prefer easier games to avoid being frustrated like I am right now with the ending which requires you to input symbols flashed for less than a second in order... I need coffee for that!

This is the first game I've played where I cared more about where the story was going to go than the actual gameplay. But the game was fun too!

Not For Everyone

I found this game to be quite interesting in the first few chapters. However, somewhere along the way, the narrative lost its focus. As intriguing as the premise and themes are, I couldn't help feeling frustrated with the convoluted plot and unsatisfying ending. The characters themselves (except perhaps for the main protagonist) aren't exactly relatable or solid in their structure. Still, there was something about the detailed backgrounds and eerie music that kept my attention throughout the game. I wanted to see what would happen in the end, though it wasn't what I was expecting (and not in a good way). In all, this is a decently well-made game. The setting of the story is lonely and melancholic while making me feel uneasy and anxious. Still, I wouldn't recommend this to someone who was a fast-paced experience. But, if you would like someone more intelectully stimulating, then you should at least check it out. Although, I must warn you that it is more of an interactive experience than a typical Big Fish game.

This is flat out the best game I have EVER played!!!!!

More than anything, I'm bummed that I finished it! This is unlike any other game I've played before, yet its elements are found in many other adventure/HO games. What a storyline! The games are engaging yet easy enough that you don't get stuck/frustrated with them, because you WILL really get into the story and want to know what happens next. It is incredible. I've played so many of these games, but this one is so far above the rest. If you are someone who is really in to the amazing graphics and artwork, heck, even you'd like this game (even though it's largely b/w-ish). Please please please make more games like this! Congratulations on a really amazing accomplishment to everyone who worked on creating this game! You knocked it out of the park! Can't wait for the sequel.
