New update is AMAZING
The updated app is simply one of the best game apps I've ever played on my iPad. The original was fun and challenging, but this takes it to a whole new level.
The graphics and sound improvements are subtle, but definitely enhance the experience. But the best thing is the addition of two new ships.
The traditional lander is challenging, but in a good way, not in a frustrating way. But the scout has become my favorite ... it is an absolute HOOT to fly, because it's so fast, responsive and deceptively stable (I say deceptively because it IS possible to throw off its balance, and when that happens, it gives you quite the shot of adrenaline).
My only complaint, and the only thing stopping me short of 5 stars, is that pop-up ads come at the most inopportune moment — just as you're starting a level. I've found that if you've already applied thrust when the ad pops up, then once the ad is done, you sometimes return to the game to find your ship already under power and accelerating. I don't mind pop-up ads, but I wish they would come at the end of or between levels.
Other than that minor complaint, this is an excellent game.
Such a Shame
The ads make you crash!!! They come on after you've started flying. It's nuts. The ads completely ruin it and there's no way to get rid of them. I work all day and don't want to spend my leisure time watching interstitial ads. I'll pay good money for good games, but this ad stuff just squats over the game and relaxes its sphincter muscle. Man, what a disappointment. Please let me pay for it. I'm good for five or six bucks, no problem, just give me the chance!
Unplayable with advertising appearing during gameplay
I've been a developer for years and a game dev too... I can't believe another coder.. A game developer no less, a advertisement that shows during gameplay causing death and lose... So this game randomly crashes you mid play... Can't even finish level one without one or two ads... I'd grade the programming work.. The game part that is.. The advertising monetization implementation looks like it was done by a one year programming rookie
