This game is great if you love facing off against opponents who can miraculously pull off feats of statistical impossibility. I love it when I could have 9 armies vs. one, and lose more than once per session. I also love how opponents can conveniently be awarded troop surges while I am left with my basic numbers for 8+ turns before and after. Really.... SUCH a fun game if you enjoy odds worse than at a Las Vegas blackjack table...
Here's literally the first 5 moves of today's game session:
Turn one: I lose 6 armies to 1.
Turn two: I lose 4 armies to 1.
Opponent A turn 2: AI has conquered one continent.
Opponent B turn 4: Another AI has now conquered a continent!
Opponent A and B turn 5: One opponent has 2x the armies I do, and another miraculously has 3x the armies I do!
Really guys? In 5 turns I lose 10 to 2, while two opponents have 2x and 3x more, respectively? And they miraculously conquer continents within the first 4 turns? You aren't going to convert me into a paying player by providing such a ridiculous math model...
I loved this game even before the overhaul. I was very pleasantly surprised when I recently opened the app, I thought that I may be the only person that still played this lol I'm glad to hear that other do as well. I probably don't fit the typical stereotype of a Lux player, but I really enjoy playing. It is a great way to pass the commercial breaks when your tired of fast forwarding or skipping ahead. My most favorite time is on my "second office," I can really get a lot done there. My only two complaints, the random loss of armies sometimes & I wish there was one or two twist/additional ways to play (nothing drastic, but maybe there's a chance card, you have to dig your self out of a "hole" against the computer, something). Overall I think it's a great app/game and I recommend it.
Pretty darn good, but could be great!
The quick setup and play is wonderful. It's a great way to pass the time when you have a couple minutes to kill. That being said, a button to mess with settings would go a long way with me. Music and sound effects are as annoying as crap and force me to put my phone on silent mode every time. Also, everyone likes to play with slightly different rules, and I detest when they add 2 troops to territories from conquest cards. Upsets my OCD when things are that way. Other than that, great.
