“Lyft is a real community — with both the drivers and riders being inherently social — making real friendships and saving money.” - Time
"In a city where taxis can be scarce and… black town cars are rampant but expensive, Lyft has quickly gained visibility due to low prices and quirky branding." - Ad Age
"Lyft's focus on the everyman has recently extended to the wildly successful Lyft Line carpool service aimed at commuters, which offers discounts of 30% to 60% for sharing a Lyft ride with others." - Fast Company
For Lyft drivers, continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

$20 coupon: LYFT88
First of all, if you haven’t taken a ride yet make sure you use the coupon LYFT88 to get $20 off your first ride! Enter it right before you request a ride in the Payment tab under Add Payment Method. Might as well try it out since it probably won't cost you a thing!
The app is easy to use and intuitive, giving you important info like the driver’s face, car model, and they’re number if you need to call them. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water and candy! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have car chargers at your ready! With the new Lyft Line it’s cheaper than ever, rides can cost you as low as a few dollars. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever take a cab again.
The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a refund. I’m very happy and I hope Lyft continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service! I also prefer Lyft much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply meaning their cars are always just a few minutes away, and price is usually the cheapest.
Overall you should definitely give it a try, especially with the $20 coupon I gave you!
Lyft is always there for me when I need a ride. I never feel stranded and the drivers are usually just a few minutes away.
The rates are better than Uber's, they don't do the crazy high surge pricing Uber does. Their drivers are a lot better- much less creepy, friendlier, easier to talk to, better drivers (I've been in 2 Ubers before ever - once where the driver ran a red light, & the other time the driver made a left turn from the middle lane, cutting off the car in the left lane. Scary!!) I've never had any experiences like this using Lyft and I've taken MANY many Lyft rides. The app is super cute, & who can resist those glowing lights they use. Plus I love that I can rip my drivers. This is one feature Uber is seriously lacking. The drivers are in the service industry and should be tipped just like anyone servers, taxi drivers etc. I like that Lyft seems to really care about it's drivers. I'll support a company that supports it's drivers.
I have been a Lyft customer for about 3 months now and I have to say for the most part, I like it. It's Convenient for those nights when it's 4am and hard to hail a cab. It's also great when other cab drivers don't want to take you certain destinations. Lyft drivers will take you to whatever address you insert in to the app as your destination. No fiddling around with your wallet at the end of each ride because you pay through the app so all you have to do is get out once you've reach your destination. There are two downsides to this system. 1. Once your cab arrives, it waits for a minute and then leaves and then you get charged a no-show fee. That's garbage. 2. The time they tell you the driver will show up is wrong half the time. If it's says 5 minutes, it's more like 7-10 minutes. Overall it's a good experience/app
