What's New in Version 4.36.3
Thanks for choosing Lyft! To make your rides even better, we update the app regularly. It’s like housekeeping: squashing bugs, cleaning up code, and other small-but-mighty improvements.
Update: your stale response below (copied and pasted to each actual review) is too little too late. I tried communicating with you and you didn't do anything but send me canned responses. Seeing a pattern yet?
Orig: I started with Lyft and added Uber as a back-up. Thanking my lucky stars, as Uber's reliable app, lightning-speed customer service, and ability to keep me busy have put Lyft to shame. Lyft has ignored my issues, sent me "silent" requests while driving that went unanswered because gee, I can't actually stare at my phone while driving!, sent me requests which I accepted and then magically vanished into thin air with no explanation OR payment, and let's see, while online at 5pm in a busy area of a major metropolitan city, ZERO requests from Lyft for hours on end while accepting one request right after another from Uber...the list continues. But the kicker to all of this is the recently added fake 5-star reviews which showed up here in just the last few days. Crooked, deceptive business practices I will not support. I'm so glad I did both of these for a while, so I was able to see for myself which one takes care of its drivers.
Better than Uber, but letting me down..
First off, don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this app. It's inexpensive, fast and reliable. But just recently, it's only just inexpensive...drivers that I request take so long to arrive, I've been late to work 3 times because of drivers that just take 10, 15, 14 minutes for pick up and most of the drivers have such low stars I have to keep canceling and finding a new one. (I only feel comfortable with 4.8-5.0) Secondly, it's not as reliable as it used to be. 😔 in the past 4 days I've requested a ride, THE RIDE WAS CANCELLED ON ME and just like that the rides were gone. And it says they're coming and then I open up the app again and it's just been cancelled on me and I'm literally waiting for nothing. Very annoying after awhile. And just recently, I've been having an issue where they say they picked me up and dropped me off but never even came to begin with. They get paid while I'm just confused and frustrated cause I'm trying to go home/work! Ugh...Like I said before, I love this app but lately it's not up to par for a long time customer like me. 😔👎🏽 please look into this and fix it please!
Bette than Uber
The only differences between Uber and Lyft are vehicle quality and fare pricing. I speculate that Uber has higher standards of cleanliness and appearance than Lyft does, but such is a small consideration. It's not like your Lyft is going to be some trashy wagon that's leaking and falling apart at the seems with trash stuffed in all the corners. Lyft cars tend to appear like normal, everyday civilians' cars, but they're kept cleaner. You can count on an Uber to look like some sort of taxi. In my opinion this difference in quality is negligible.
Second is pricing! Lyft is consistently 10-15% cheaper than Uber. Plain and simple.
I've never had a Lyft driver who made poor conversation, or seemed repulsive by any means. Lyft's rating system is reliable to filter out any bad drivers.
In conclusion: Lyft is basically the same thing as Uber, but cheaper. So go with Lyft.
