Frustrating & unresponsive. Glad I tried the free version first!
Brings back good memories. When I first saw this I was excited to play this for the first time in over a decade, only to find myself disappointed. The screen goes black for a good second when you're supposed to shoot & is unresponsive making it 99.9% impossible to win. After several attempts at the same level with the screen going blank every time it was time to shoot, causing me to lose & have to sit through the same introduction over & over (that they don't let you skip), I got frustrated & deleted this waste of space on my iPhone.
There's real market for all of these old Anerican Laser Games releases, but 4.99 is *not* the price point that's going to sell purchases.
Not sure what liscencing cost you, but if you brought out Crime Patrol, Mad Dog 2, Who Shot Johnny Rock, etc.,.at a .99 or (maybe) a 1.99 price point, you'd be amazed at how many old-school fans would jump in.
I love old ALG titles, but there's no way you're going to get purchases rolling at that 4.99 price point.
My advice? Cut Mad Dog to .99 cents over a weekend, advertise it on Kotaku and Reddit and see the response.
Trust me guys, we want mobile versions of these titles as well as Night Trap, Ground Zero Texas and Zombie Killer (I think that's right)....we'll just never drop the dime on it at this price point.
Hey digital leisure! This is quite a basic but good port of the arcade (thanks for making it free :)). Also, can you PLEASE do a port of a laserdisc arcade game called "Freedom Fighter"? FF is one of my all time favorites. If you do port Freedom Fighter, please keep the slow motion feature, and please make us use a virtual joystick with crossair instead of just tapping the enemies like you do in this game, a FF port would be HIGHLY appreciated.
