This is truly a great game by BF but I gave it only 4 stars because no matter how careful I am, I even played 4 times with only my left hand!, the hint button goes off when I didn't tap on it! Everything else is great but this. I make sure I am no where near the hint button and it just goes off like I tapped it when I know for sure I didn't. Anyone else having this problem? If so then BF needs to fix this. I have plenty of available space on my iPad2 and I have deleted, restarted my phone, and re-installed the app and this is still going on. I'm kinda a picky player, I like to play and complete games without using any hints or skipping puzzles and this game is not allowing me to do so and it's driving me nuts!! Plz BF fix this!!! As soon as it's fixed I'll change my star rating to the 5 stars it deserves.
*Those of you out there debating on whether to buy this game or not, go ahead and buy it, especially if your a HO fan!! You won't be disappointed if you do buy it, but play the free part first to make sure you are going to like it .
Pros: Good Soundtrack, varied locations, lengthy gameplay.
Cons: TOO EXPENSIVE! The dull story makes for boring, biding your time, "I wonder what's on tv" uninspiring play. Finding the same type of hidden items countless times (way too many valves & keys to find REPEATEDLY...after awhile it just felt like busy work used lazily by the designers to lengthen time), tacky obvious photoshop crap portraits, game artwork feels stale because we've seen this before, only better from these same designers.
Final Judgment: Its boring, plus you don't really feel compelled to finish, especially since the whole plots told at the start. Since Xmas this companies inconsistencies, plus double releases & scamming forced double purchases, has made we wary of giving them my hard earned green. Due to their pricing, these rates really add up, so we've cut back to lately one purchase a month instead of at least one a week when the new games dropped. All These reasons combined with Big Fishes growing OVERPRICING trend, makes this game, and most of their offerings so far in 2012 as overwhelmingly regretted purchases.
Great graphics, great story, but.....
I can only give this game four stars. The story is clever and original. The graphics were well done. When it comes to the hidden object puzzles, most items are not hidden in very complex ways. Some like that, some don't. I liked it when you were forced realize that an item in the list could have more than one meaning, but there weren't enough of those. Why is there a score, when there aren't that many opportunities for bonuses or penalties?
I don't like paying this much (relatively speaking) for a game that you play once and doesn't really change much if I want to play it again. "Collector's Edition?" Really? The "strategy guide" that comes with the paid version is nothing more than a cheat sheet.
Having said that, 50% off a sequel might be acceptable if they can release soon.
Also, gotta love the British accents for characters in a French town :)
