Customer Reviews

Best OSM client. 🗺

Tried a few openstreetmap iOS client, this one is the best so far. Reliable, rarely crashes. It has terrain view, which is rare for an OSM client. The maps look contemporary which can't be said about some of the others which look like a street directory from the 70's. Criticism: Should have a map data tool to send missing or erroneous information to the OSM project. Being 'on the ground', works best. Without this, most people would forget or not bother with using openstreetmap.org on a computer, when they get home!

It's free, good address search, and very intuitive.

Finally, a free nav GPS offline map app that's easy to use, similar to the likes of TomTom or Navigon! I was using the Maps.Me app and was frustrated with the unintuitive address search. That app just got me frustrated and wasted a lot of my time.

Then, I found this app - Magic Earth Navigation. Address searching was perfect, even better than the paid apps! Address searching can include house numbers. Maps are larger than Maps.Me, but you can find almost anything and route to it easily (eg: Sandy McNabb in the middle of nowhere in southern Alberta - WOW!). The app is very intuitive to use.

The only downside is that it lags a bit. Not sure if it's my iPhone 4s or the settings for autostart of 10 seconds. The GPS on the app catches up later on. The other downside for now is that it does not support HUD mode for heads up display gadgets for safe driving. Hope this is Incorporated in future releases. This nav app also does not have re-routing and it does not have any alternative routing. So, hope this feature is a priority for future releases.

I'm very impressed with this free app and how easy it is to use, how accurate it is with the GPS location (to within 3 inches! - verified), and excellent address searches. The app is not perfect, but it's way better than 99% of the free and paid apps out there.
