Powerful, but simple

It's surprising to me how often I use this thing. But with a quick hot key, I find that almost daily there's some quick use where just having this here makes it super easy to run some quick calculations without having to pull up a spreadsheet.

Of course, you can just use the simple calculator for that, but every so often I need a more complicated formula and this thing covers such needs easily, plus has a ton more beyond what I'm likely to ever need. Still, just a super feature packed calculator in an easy package. And I also like the chronology feature for those times I want to go back and look at a recent problem I'd needed to sovle.

Cursor selection not great

The main reason I chose this app over other calculator apps was because it allows me to move my cursor around nominally better than the default system calculator. However, it's still pretty deficient in allowing me to e.g., select part of an equation, copy it, and paste it. The other reason I chose this was because it's convenient to see a history of previous calculations, but it's pretty annoying that every time the app opens I have to re-browse the the menu options and re-open the history drawer that I open every time. Overall, the app is nominally better than other things I've used, but I think I'll move to a better app once I find one that handles cursor and always keeps history open without me performing the same action over and over.

You can keep the history opened. Here’s how:
Go to menu > Magic Number > Preferences
Under General, At Startup, turn on “Open last used drawer”

Best Ever!

This is the best calculator I have ever used on any platform from old physical devices to mobile platforms to desktop operating systems. Nothing were remotely close to this in usefulness and quality. It is easy to use, shortcuts make input much faster and correctly. You can go back and edit parts of a long formula, it keeps history. I dislike the act of calling every other thing "awesome", but believe me this app is really awesome.

It feels and looks great when it draws the fraction line when you enter a division. Longer formulas look much cleaner than the ugly one-line notation.
