Editors’ Notes

Gem-matching meets card-based strategy in this addictive blend of fast-paced puzzling and role-playing combat. There’s an instant thrill every time you match gems to summon creatures, cast spells, and release devastating special attacks. Managing your deck requires savvy forethought—whether you’re battling computer-controlled foes or testing your mettle against opponents online.

Veteran player but disappoint with collection system

I would describe myself as a veteran player of this game. I love it. But there are a lot of things to hate about it. I play all the events. And love that you’re expanding the types of events. What I hate is that any time I buy packs or am awarded packs or even get a bonus rare from the event I’m practically guaranteed a card I already own. I understand that you don’t control what comes out of the packs but after a while of pulling the same rares every time I get lucky enough to get one at all, it gets to be annoying. There should be a better way of regulating the cards given. Like how you do with the duel decks packs where you’re guaranteed a new card, there should be a way to regulate that for all the bonus rares awarded or something. The only way to guarantee a new card is the booster crafting and when you consider that you give 1/6 of what a card from a pack is worth is really underwhelming. When I opened 2 packs of the new set that I was awarded I got 6 new cards. Which shows that the overlap rate of cards is too high. If you release a set with 212 new cards and it automatically gives doubles immediately then there is a problem. I really love playing the game but you’re making it difficult to enjoy the collection aspect of the game. Which as an actual MTG player IRL is a huge reason I play. I really doubt this will be looked at or considered at all but I know I’m not the only one with this opinion.

Cool twist on a legendary card game!

This is a solid game! The rounds/matches are pretty quick. The story isn’t amazing but will keep you interested. And while the game has enough content to be very in-depth/complex, it has been done in a way that everyone can play with little to no knowledge of the “Original Trading Card Game - Circa 1993.”
While this phone/digital version has little to do with the structure of the trading card game; It does utilize many of the original paper cards. They have done their due diligence on finding good through legendary cards from its trading card decks.
Also just as the traditional card game, this new twisted version has an incredible amount of cards to collect and they are still working hard at making new decks every few weeks.
If you like puzzle games like “Candy Crush” you’ll have the skills to get you started in this Role Playing World; If you also know some things from the trading card game, you’ll be above average at this version.
Overall a very solid game. That can be played just about anywhere without being stuck trying to finish a level before you can stop. But do beware, you can quickly be drawn in to this fun/artsy/whimsical/somewhat scary world of “M-TG!”
