*** Is this email really coming from your bank or is it some scam/phishing scheme? Mail Detective will help you figure it out! ***
Mail Detective can determine the geographical origin of an email, which makes it easier for you to check how plausible it is. Simply drag the email from your mail program and drop it onto the app’s window - Mail Detective will tell you the country and, if possible, the city from which the email was sent.
These email programs support Drag and Drop:
Airmail, Apple Mail, Mail Pilot, Outlook 2011 and Postbox.
Don't have any of these mail programs? No problem! You can also copy the email header and paste it into the app - Mail Detective will find the origin!
These email programs don't support Drag and Drop but can display the email header information:
Thunderbird and Unibox.
Next time you get an email from your bank asking you to verify your account by entering your PIN and TAN numbers, check with Mail Detective first!
* Please note that Mail Detective will need internet access to work. Also, emails from some generic providers such as GMAIL or HOTMAIL can only be traced back to their respective server centers.
