The fast, fun mobile inbox that puts email in its place.

Note: Currently for Gmail and iCloud accounts. Other email platforms are on the way!

Mailbox is a completely redesigned inbox that makes email light, fast, and mobile-friendly. Quickly swipe messages to your archive or trash. Scan an entire conversation at once with chat-like organization. Snooze emails until later with the tap of a button — they’ll return to your inbox automatically so you can focus on what's important now.

Mailbox checks your email from the cloud and delivers it to your phone securely. Now with Auto-swipe, Mailbox learns from your swipes and snoozes to automate common actions. Mute that conversation you don’t care about, snooze messages from your friend to this evening, or route all of your receipts to a list — automatically.

Mailbox’s delightful UI and smart features make getting to zero — and staying there — a breeze. After you experience a clean inbox, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

“Already the app I use most often.”
—MG Siegler,

“The best email management app you'll ever use.”
— Ryan Lawler, TechCrunch

With the loss of Sparrow and Apple unwilling to fully support Gmail or other email innovations Mailbox has been the go to app for most of us. What was once unique is now showing it seems. When I open an existing thread in Mailbox the newest message is squished at the bottom with all the old threads above taking up half the screen oddly. Where when I open the same message on Gmail for iOS or the superior Inbox by Google for iOS it shows the current message full screen and I can simply swipe down to view the previous messages. In general most all HTML and messages display better on Gmail iOS than mail which attempts to dumb down the email.

Since no improvements have been made on this front I’m worried they simply won’t be able to compete with Google. Overall the Gmail app feels dated and ugly but Inbox greatly improves on the majority of those issues. Overall Inbox feels like it’s designed for a child rather than a power user adult but Gmail could easily pull back their kidish bulbous design much easier than Mailbox can fix their issues I think. Also Gmail search is instant, Mailbox is much slower.

Mailbox still has a chance since Google hasn’t improved their downfalls because ultimately it involves conceding to Apple design trends over their own Google trends on iOS. But if Google ever makes the right choice and designs an Inbox App with Google functionality but 100% iOS design Mailbox will be screwed and users but users will be thankful.

Mailbox for Mac OS10 Yosemite & IOS 8

My new, favorite Mail app for both my iMac operating on Yosemite and my iPhone 6 Plus and iPad running iOS 8.3. A MacUser and loyalist since 1982 I was having serious problems with Apple Mail. All are working together harmoniously via the iCloud. Thanks to Mailbox!
I knew little or nothing about 3rd party mail client apps. First tried to set up Airmail 2.0 and Inky… To no avail. They could not work with iCloud no matter how hard I tried. Finally, I turned to Mailbox and could not believe how quickly it set up. No incoming or outgoing service set up issues involving IMAP & SMTP protocols etc. it is intuitive, fast and stable. As an author and editor I need a Mail app that allows me to quickly transfer data to an from my authors. I love this app. It is transforming my life.

Superb tool, best email app out there.

This is the best email app out there for several reasons:

1. It reinvents the email app, making it useful again. I was bogged down by so many emails and my tagging system was causing so many things to fall through the cracks. At zero inbox, life gets much easier to handle.

2. It's beautifully simple. The design is both aesthetically and usably elegant. Only containing the most basic and useful features, you weed out ways to make email more complicated than it should be. Beautiful.

3. It's liberating. If you've never experienced zero inbox, you don't know what you're missing. It's like yoga on a remote island. You feel free to stop worrying about if you've forgotten or misplaced an email. It all works for you to make your life less-work centric and, thus, more enjoyable.

The app had a few server issues at start, but why complain if you could still fall back on the Mail app of the iPhone? They've solved all that now, and its been nothing short of great.

Perhaps my only feature request is to be able to set Fantastical as my Calendar app to schedule events from emails, but beggars can't be choosers, eh?
