Happy runners agree!
"Fyi, yesterday... I ran 8 miles!!!! I had to switch a long run from Sat to Sun... Never thought I would be able to do that"
- Bill, Boston, MA

"Week before last I was prepared to quit the program as I left for my long run. I thought there was no way I could run for 1 hr and 30 min. The evening was beautiful, I headed up into the hills and soon enough I found myself a few miles from home... I ran for 1 hr and 50 min that day, registering 10 miles. That was the longest/furthest I had run in maybe 10 years."
- Stacy, San Francisco, CA

"The true test of the run was my recovery and I'm happy to report no joint or muscle pain the next day. If you hadn't set me up with the plan, I would NEVER have kept going."
- Melissa, NY, NY

"Thanks again for coaching me! I'm not quitting!"
- James, NY, NY

I can't figure out why this is rated so high

There are several 5k/10k training apps on the App Store, and every one I've used has the basic feature of voice feedback. I cannot believe such a small, vital thing to a training app is overlooked. The first days run for me was a 30 minute run. I fired it up, started running and expected it to tell me when I was halfway done or so. I keep my phone in a fitness belt, so I can't glance at the screen. It didn't tell me I'm halfway done but I figured oh well, not a big deal. Finally I look at my watch and realize I've been running for at least 35 minutes. I stopped and pulled my phone out and see that it's just ticking away. At the end of a workout, why would it not tell you that a workout is completed? If I have to time things myself, why not just look at any website and pick a plan and use my watch to time it. The app is essentially nothing more than a calendar. I asked customer service if I had something not set up correctly and there suggestion for a "similar" feature was to pay $6/month for MVP and use "Coaching". No thanks, I'll go back to one of the many free options that has this basic feature.

Beginning to put me up toward the top

After rearing 6children for 21 years and always being last in the priority list, I am beginning to move me up on the list. I have to start all over and I have to start somewhere, MapMyRun is giving me just what I need to begin again! Thank you for making it simple to use yet robust enough for Me to grow with. I am loving it!

Lacking in areas

The app is easy to use and well laid out, but had some gaps. I didn't like the way that the workouts overlapped with different stages of training. If workouts are not marked as complete, the next completed workout should count towards the applicable stage. Also, "track my run" didn't always link correctly to the MapMyRun app. The workouts were good, but kind of repetitive. It would have been nice to have distance thresholds and timed thresholds.
