Mars Colony 2: Excellent VR Learning Game!
Mars Colony has been recently updated. The graphics and animations are amazingly realistic--what an exciting way to learn about the planet Mars! First, explore the Space Station by walking in search of platforms at various "info stations" and answering multiple-choice questions about Mars. Then, make your way outside onto the planet's surface. Explore around the Station, view and learn about rocks and other interesting facts. I highly recommend Mars Colony 2 (for students of all ages) to expand your knowledge via a fun virtual reality game!
Brilliant Piece of Work
After fifteen minutes of experiencing the virtual simulation, I have found a great deal of atmosphere that intrigues me. Specifically, I love the massive landscape that surrounds the base; yet, the focused area of course is sealed to minimize app size. In addition to that, some of the quizzes, especially the one about gas composition with the customizable sliders, are composed up of only general knowledge about the Red Planet, which shouldn't be too technical for anyone in particular. The detailed structure of the base itself was brilliant and allows a sense of exploration. Despite the magnificent simulation, there are some major bugs that must be addressed. One significant problem in the simulation is the glitching of the buildings. When I tried to walk back into the base, some of the buildings were not properly modeled, and as a result I could walk through them as if I were a ghost. That issue seems to be the most noticable. Another problem that I've found was the movement controls. The controls were a little difficult to use and sometimes posed a problem. One solution into mitigating this issue would be to add a thumbstick graphic interface. The other issues were only minor. As for suggestions, I would recommend adding a camera control in order to look around to strengthen the general feel of the atmosphere.
