I love Mashable, and get most of my social media insight from them. However, the iPad app leaves a lot on the table, both in app stability and quality. I hope at least some of these things get addressed in the near future:
1. The app crashes periodically.
2. When browsing through stories, the scrolling is choppy.
3. Some stories take a painfully long time to load.
4. There are too many sidebars, it takes away from actually reading the story.
On the last point, one thing I do admit that I like is the thumb-tap I can do to move quickly to the next story using the list of stories on the left side. That is kind of the flip of my criticism of item four, but just wanted to mention that it is not all bad.
Again, the stories themselves are great! That's why Im hoping these things get addressed soon - along with ZDnet and TechCrunch, I'd love this app to be one of my three go-to sources for tech info. Thanks.
I've been a Mashable reader since 2010 and one of the best ways to read the stories was through this app.
The app has kept getting worse overtime. It crashes more often, landscape mode is so annoying to the point that it could easily be crashed just by one twist, and now thanks to the whole web page renewal/makeover, the pictures don't appear in the stories.
I mean, COME ON, you guys are a TECH CRITICS who are NOT GIVING THE EXAMPLE by having a good app. GOOD, not GREAT, at least.
Now I read and comment on Mashable so much less since the app got on my nerves. It has been erased from my iPad and looking foward for an update.
Thank you for all this time and great work the team of Mashable has done.
I downloaded this app a while back, but after months of hoping that things will get better, finally decided to delete it. It just wasn't worth the aggravation. And then a few months passed and I decided to see if it is any better. It is inexcusable that Mashable has not updated one of the worst apps I have ever come across in nearly a year. This app is so buggy it actually puts me of wanting to read anything of theirs! Despite the fact that they are excellent at covering the tech field... I am not very hopeful, but hopefully someone over there will take the time and build a better app...
