Unfulfilled promise

I wanted to like this, but - it's trying to do a lot of things, and not doing most of them well.

1. The "rotation" - which would be helpful using the maps - doesn't work.

2. The app REQUIRES you to enable location services to use the map. From a privacy perspective I resent that, and frankly it's an obstacle if I want to consider a brewery that's not nearby.

3. When you get to a list of breweries, there's no link to the breweries' own web pages.

4. If you select a brewery - Surprise! - you have to create a MBG account and sign in. I don't want to leave the app to get info.

So I'm disappointed. I'll probably leave it on my phone to see if it improves in the near future, but the app fails to deliver on its promise.

I got a “We've made updates - please re-rate us!” message from the developer. If they have, I can’t tell - the four things I said I didn’t like are still issues, so I’m not sure what they updated.

Well, they’ve had a second chance to make a good first impression and they failed. My rating is now “don't bother with this app”. Deleting it from my phone; not seeing a third chance for them when they ignored my prior feedback.

Great idea, terrible execution

First of all, any app that “polices” my alcohol consumption is problematic. We visit a lot of breweries—sometimes we have a small pour and then are on to the next place. Other times we stay for hours nursing a couple rounds. If I want to stamp my passport twice within 30 min, I don’t need to see a message lecturing me about alcohol consumption. Second issue I have is with the app itself—the “stamp passport” portion is not intuitively designed. I shouldn’t have to tap through several screens to get to the stamp passport screen. It’s such a great idea to have an app that lets you keep track of the breweries you visit and I do like how it’s GPS-based. I just think it needs some tweaking.

Greetings! Thank you for the feedback. We will pass your suggestions along for review. Regarding the stamping passport button, you are able to turn off the "tutorial" so that it does not pop up every time that you visit the passport. To easily do this, simply click the 3 lines on the top left of the home screen, tutorials and you can manage the passport tour there =-) Feel free to reach out if you have any other issues and we will gladly provide support!

History disappears

I used the passport feature for year. It was great. Visited a lot of breweries I wouldn’t have known about. Tasted some great beers and met some interesting beer advocates. Then on my one year anniversary all my badges and stamps disappeared, including those from breweries I visited two days ago. Very lame. It was great to track the 50+ breweries I visited. Now that’s all gone.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback! I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the yearly passport renewal. After your renewal, you are still able to track your 50+ visited breweries in the passport by clicking "Passport" "My Stamps" and then you'll see a tab at the top "current stamps" and "expired stamps". Your expired stamps will all be visible in the expired stamps tab. We are also very happy to announce the new Anniversary badge which should be released in early 2019 (stay tuned!). Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns and we'd be happy to help!
