This app has promise, but it has a few kinks

I like the direction the app is going, and I think it has promise. But it also has some quirks.

Pros:
✓ The color-contrast-ratio math is in good shape. I entered some sample colors and then double-checked the results against The Paciello Group’s Colour Contrast Analyser—and they matched.
✓ It’s also pretty convenient to have the various color-blindness simulations right there in the color-contrast-checker window.

Cons:
✗ The app also has a built-in browser so that you can apply color-blindness simulations directly onto web pages. But for whatever reason, it refuses to load any page with an “http” URL—it only seems to work with “https” URLs. (I’m running the app on El Capitan—I’m not sure if that makes any difference.)
✗ The color-contrast window has an unnamed slider that took me forever to figure out what it was. (I ended up activating VoiceOver to infer the name of it—turns out it’s an “intensity” slider.) For people who don’t always read the manual (like me), it could’ve been handy if there were a little text label or something next to it. (Also, I couldn’t find anything in the app’s built-in help about what the intensity slider does or why you might want to mess with it.)
