MDT Travel Info is an official app of the Montana Department of Transportation.
MDT Travel Info, formerly MDT Mobile, provides traveler information focused on the State of Montana, including road conditions, construction projects, road incidents, still camera images, and atmospheric information. The app allows a user to find their current location and map routes based on address or city names.
The winter road reporting season runs from November through April. During this time, road conditions are updated twice a day or as major changes occur.
Road reports are based on the last reported condition, the information is not real time. Please be aware that conditions can change rapidly so plan for winter conditions.
Camera and RWIS information is the last reported from our remote sites. Site update times vary so please note the data time and know that weather in Montana can change rapidly. Some of the cameras are from other DOT agencies in neighboring states and provinces.
Current radar image is provided by the Iowa Environmental Mesonet and updated every five minutes.
MDT's mission is to serve the public by providing a transportation system and services that emphasize quality, safety, cost effectiveness, economic vitality and sensitivity to the environment.

Updates for iOS 11
Ratings and Reviews
Recent iOS Update Failure
I loved using this app... when it worked. Unfortunately the most recent update made available to iOS users has rendered the app useless. Weeks before leaving this review I contacted the MDT about these issues and unfortunately was told “go to the webpage for road conditions” as an alternative to the app. If it were that simple I would have done it already. The desktop version is not mobile compatible and is clunky at best to navigate. If they could reverse this most recent update and go back to the previous version while figuring out a better update, I and many other users would be happy. The convenience of the app versus their webpage version of the map is why I reached out to MDT in the first place. If it weren’t for the failed update, this app would have five stars.
Last update killed it
Being a truck driver in Montana, I used this app every day, after the last update this app is now worthless, won’t open, stuck on white screen, SLOW if it does open, and WHY did you change the map to only being able to move with 2 fingers now? I hope this app gets fixed as it can be very useful, especially in winter months, but as of now, it’s not worth downloading at all.
Based on recent reviews I was a little hesitant to download. Took the plunge anyway and it seems to function just fine on a 9.7" iPad Pro running iOS 12.
