HOW MEAL MENTOR WORKS
1. Access & customize your weekly meal plan every Sunday.
Open your email (or the Meal Mentor app) and see your suggested weekly menu. Make substitutions depending on your preferences and dietary restraints, or swap out meals that don’t tickle your fancy completely by searching our recipe database. Not planning to be home? Remove a meal in seconds.
2. Use your custom grocery list to shop for your favorite ingredients.
Tick off the items as you shop in the app, or print your list and pop it in your bag. Save money and time while reducing food waste with a grocery list of only the exact ingredients you need for the week.
3. Meal prep for the whole week in just 60 minutes
Prep your meals with our precise and easy to follow step-by-step directions for delicious results, even if you’re no Master Chef or new to vegan cooking. Tick off ingredients as you use them, and prep your meals ahead of time to reheat throughout the week. Or, if you prefer, most recipes can be cooked in 5-20 minutes – perfect for busy weeknights.
Favorites and Shopping Lists are now the same regardless of which meal plan is selected.

It’s helpful - when it works
Long time meal mentor customer here. I love all about this and the app is something I’ve been waiting for. It simplifies shopping...when it works. I’m really struggling with it. I click on something and nothing happens or it finally unchecks after like 20 seconds. It crashes on me a lot and I just find that touching to navigate isn’t working. I just end up tapping like mad to get something to go and nothing. I also find that I like to select items across a few weeks. When I open the app it only shows this week, which means the list only reflects this week. So while I am shopping I have to keep clicking back through past weeks to get my list. With some big and user experience fixes it’s solid gold. Not sure how to share feedback other than here but I’m happy to share more with Lindsay.
Buggy to the point I can’t use
I was open to using an app for this service, but this app has not impressed. The shopping list will not save ingredients from other weeks if you want to customize your menu using meals from previous weeks, and it seems to have problems saving the previous recipes you’ve selected so you have to write it all down anyway. That completely defeats the purpose of this service as it was advertised. Users have also requested enhancements (like being able to add other items to the shopping list like shampoo, paper towels, etc or aggregating ingredients when they are used across more than one recipe) and the support team says they will explore those options, but the enhancements and performance improvements do not seem to be rolling out.
After using the app for a few months, I can’t say that I love it, but it is slowly improving. Yes, there are glitches, but I’m sure one day this will be a fully functional app. Until then, the PDFs for recipes and grocery list are available online, if need be. I do have to say, that the simplicity of the app is growing on me and I look forward to it being one day fully reliable. Thankfully, the recipes remain unchanged and amazing. Way better than any of the current competitors’ meal planner recipes!! The app gets a 3 Stars and the recipes get 5 Stars.
