Meal Planner Pal
By Gregg Evans
This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.
Meal Planner Pal is a simple, easy to use, customizable meal planning tool.
Creating a meal plan is hassle free and only takes a few minutes.
You can stick to the basics, or add additional information such as number of calories in each meal and the number of portions of fruit and vegetables. This will then be summarised per day.
There is a grocery basket which allows you to create a list of groceries alongside your meal plan - making your food shopping easier and faster.
When grocery shopping, you can strikethrough groceries so it is easy to see what is left to buy.
You can also email your meal plan and grocery list so you can print it off or share with others.
There are also a number of extra features, such as:
- The ability to set the number of days in a plan (as opposed to the standard seven days)
- The ability to create your own meal library so creating future meal plans becomes quicker and easier
-The ability to set reminders/alerts directly from the app e.g. to remember to defrost food or to remind you what you have planned to eat.
- The ability to calculate the cost of your groceries
What real users are saying about Meal Planner Pal:

"This is exactly what I needed to plan weekly! It's easy to use and give you the chance to create a shopping list as you go. It also allows you to email it which is great!"
What's New in Version 2.1
- fix to the day of the week
- a settings option so users can tailor the look and feel
- additional pro ability to calculate grocery costs
- the ability to strikethrough grocery items when purchased
- restart old plan fix
- changes to the pro meal library
I just upgraded because I want to be able to keep my menus and recipes within the app and .99 didn't seem like a big deal. Most of the options just close out the app when you select them. With an app like this I'm not interested in taking the time and effort to enter all my stuff if I can't trust that it's going to work. Also, the style is pretty uninviting. It only works in portrait mode, and in order to be really what I am looking for, I would rather have a calendar that I put my recipe's on and build my menu from that. Also, the ability to share the menu and grocery list with my husband would be ideal. Haven't gotten too far into it, so I don't know if it has things like repeatable items for the grocery list, or am I going to have to set up a separate grocery list for things like milk that might not be part of my recipe. Can I import a recipe from the internet or at least imbed a link? or do I have to manually enter everything?
Back to 5 stars!!
Thank you for listening and giving us the option to change it back to the old simple layout 😊 all the new features are really helpful to make any new meal plans very easy to customize and detail! Glad I stuck around and now i'm definitely upgrading to the pro version 👍🏼
(maybe the background color can become customizable in another update? 😇)
I started using this last June to regulate my diet but stopped around the beginning of this year; I did not like the new update (plus I got a lot lazier). Now that I am starting to keep track of meals again I looked back into this app to find that you can choose to use the old layout! Now I'm using it again and couldn't be happier.
