mecalQ Lite is a mobile application for mechanical engineers, undergraduate and graduate students.
This application resides entirely on the local device and does not require network connectivity to use the application(except to email). The software can be used by a mechanical engineer any time there is a need to quickly look up a formula and/or compute.
mecalQ Lite has over 10 topics. Each topic contains one or more formulas. In each topic the formula expression is displayed with concise explanation of the terms involved. Each formula can be computed. For inputting values for the formula, the option to enter values in alternative units is available. For input variables that are properties, values can be auto-populated from a list of commonly used materials or contexts.
It has options to add formulas to favorites. Computed results can be emailed. Recently viewed formulas can be accessed from a tab bar button.Formulas can be searched as well.
The full version mecalQ adds many more formulas, more units and more properties.

Good idea not enough formulas
This at is set up great, easy to navigate and IF THERE WAS ENOUGH FORMULAS I'm sure I wouldn't have a problem finding what I would have been looking for.
So if publisher would have just spent some more time and dedication. This app would have been a great hit, lots of engineering students would have taken advantage.
But because there simply is not enough content. It's not worth your time at this moment to download this app.
Does what it claims; great productivity tool
This is a formula reference and computation tool that is a must have for mechanical engineers in the field and for students/researchers.
My only gripe with this free version is that it looks like a sampler - one formula for each category that may not be of real use to most people; instead they could have given one category (for e.g. beams or machine design from the the paid app mecalq).
I already reviewed the full version and I wouldn't have added a review if I didn't see a false and incorrect review on this application. I don't understand why people have to write patently false reviews with ulterior motives on applications. If you are looking to read up on Aluminium, I suggest you hit the books/library and not look for iphone application that is classified as productivity tool. This is a formula computation tool and it does what it claims very well; that should be very useful for practising engineers and students who already know what is "aluminium".
Just Screenshots of Random Items...
Disappointed. I was hoping to be able to look up information, but there is almost no info on this app. Very weak. I can't even find the screens in the app that they show in the screen shots. One of the screen shots shows some information for aluminum, but a search within the app for "aluminum" gives no results. WTF? Skip it and buy a Pocket Ref book.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
