Neat program

A nice bit of analogue in a digital world. This is a neat program, with a couple of issues. First off, the background is so busy that it’s actually difficult to see the clock hands; they just don’t stand out enough from all the stuff going on behind them. Second, this app looks nice, but it would look AMAZING if it were Retina resoultion — which it is not.

I run it on my laptop with a second monitor (connected via Thunderbolt DVI adaptor). If the program is displaying on the second monitor and I disconnect that monitor, the program gets confused. The sounds continue, but the image is gone (which makes sense, as the monitor is no longer connected.) But if I reconnect the second monitor, the clock doesn’t reappear. Then if I change the monitor settings to my laptop screen and back, the clock continues to display on the laotop screen and not the second screen. So long story short: it gets confused with multiple monitors. Restarting the app fixes this issue.

I would like to have more granular sound options — for example, I’d like the ticking to be pretty quiet, but the chimes should be louder. Only one sound setting.

This is absolutely freaking amazing!!! It looks so beautifully awesome. I will now be looking at your other applications and if the quality is just as good I will be purchasing much more. As a Microsoft person I am hoping that you also have this available for Windows, and if you do I will be telling everyone who is "Operating System Challenged” (i.e. Windows user LOL) where to find it. Their systems may crash of course and they will have to wade through DLL Hell to figure it out. LOL ROFL
Yes, we jab each other in fun constantly.
My co-workers/friends like to derisively call Apple users “Fan Boys”.
I tell them that they are right, I am a fan of Apple products, because they work so extremely well, are stable, and you know it will work every time you turn the power on. So, Heck yeah, if that is their definition of a “Fan Boy” then I am certainly that.
Maybe that is exactly why you have never heard the term “Fan Boy” being used in reference to Windows users. ;-)

After years of working with computers, I have been seeking ways to make my desktop feel more substantial and realistic rather than cold and flat. This is one awesome way to do it. I have two monitors, my main one is my 27" iMac, and the second an older squarish flat panel. I put this clock on the other panel, so I have it sitting next to me, and I get to see the clock a little more often since I use that space less. IT is indeed like hving a grandfather clock without taking up anymore space! And even better, I know that the time is actually correct.

I really like the options on the sound settings; it really allows me to customize it to what I want. I would keep it running even when I am not on the computer in screen saver mode, but because of my preference to reduce energy costs, my computer is set up to go into sleep mode right away. So I mostly enjoy its benefits as I am working.

My cat really likes it, too, and will sit watching it, as mesmerized as I am by the inner workings.
I wish there were more apps out there like this one for our desktops. But this one has managed to truly capture some authenticity. It might be nice to have options for other clock faces in the future.
Great app, and well worth the price. Thanks!
