A remote control for Windows Media Center.
What's New in Version 1.1.1
Added support for manually specifying server address
Useful, With a Few Drawbacks
Honestly, I love this app. I think this is the best application for this purpose on the app store. That being said, there are a few drawbacks, the foremost being the lag. It isn't full seconds like some people have saying, but it is there, if only milliseconds (which for all of you who play online games, you know milliseconds count).
As for the pros, it is nice to have a backup remote in case of the usual problems, like batteries dying or losing the remote itself.
Overall, a great, usefull app that is well worth the 99 cents.
One major problem...
The app and associated PC server installed without problem and there was no lag time between pressing a button and an action in Windows Media Center. Since the primary use of the app was to bypass commercials on Recorded TV, the Skip button was the only one to get heavy use.
It doesn't work. At least not with 64-bit Windows 7. The app also places all buttons on one screen which I found hard to use. After much debugging I gave up and purchased a different app which works as required.
Went from 5 stars to 2
I don't know what happened but after reinstaling my OS (XP) and reinstalling the server software it went from something i used every single day to unusable. Before it connected and operated in split second never ever fail timing. now each command takes up to 3 or 4 seconds if at all. Removed and reinstalled both Iphone and sever apps to no avail. I wonder if they made changes to server app from one revision to another but I want my Mediamote back to the way it was.
