What's New in Version 4.3.5

This release makes 10% Happier ready for iOS 11!

Relatedly, we live in an era defined by what’s been called “omni-connectivity,” where we're beset by emails, text, status updates, and push notifications. Scientists have had to come up with a new term to describe the condition in which many of us now live: “continuous partial attention.”

Science has shown at least two ways that meditation can help you focus.

First, studies show meditation can boost focus by activating and even growing the regions of the brain important for meta-awareness - knowing where your mind is at any time. The more you practice, the better you get at understanding your own mental habits - like checking Facebook instead of replying to an infuriating email - and then being able to change them.

Second, meditation can decrease activity in the brain region responsible for mind wandering ruminations. So you're less caught up in a barrage of me-me-me thoughts, and more able to focus on the task at hand.

The daily exercise of trying to focus on one thing at a time -- like your breath -- and then getting lost and starting again (and again, and again) can help you stay on task during the course of your day.

Thoughts and a helping hand

The customer service along with your meditation coach are outstanding. They will help you through any questions no matter the issue. The guided meditation is easy to find time for and helps promote the act itself. So far just by doing the initial seven sessions, I believe, I have noticed a change in my thoughts in an almost healthier way. After doing meditation by myself without any guidance and becoming one with my nostrils this app has helped me to further my meditations. I suggest this to friends almost daily and I would suggest it to anyone who has even the slightest bit of uneasiness in their life. I absolutely love this app and plan on continuing it for as long as I can.

First truly useful meditation app

I've tried meditation on and off for years. Never worked. So I downloaded various apps I've seen recommended. With all of them there was something I didn't like. Finally, I found one I'm sticking to, look forward to doing, miss it when I'm not able to, etc. Good signs that this one is for me!
