Description

-- FEATURED BY APPLE AS AN INVALUABLE UTILITY 2014 --
AWARDED MACWORLD 'MAC GEM' 2013 - The Best Memory Cleaning App

Memory Clean is the ultimate app for optimizing your Mac's memory and is best used after you have finished using a memory (RAM) intensive app or game.

With the slickest interface and user experience, Memory Clean stands head and shoulders above the rest.

Note: Memory Clean works by purging the Mac's inactive memory and is best used when you close an intensive app that you do not plan to use again quickly within a few hours. During the cleaning process, older Macs may slow down until the cleaning is complete.

What's New in Version 5.2

Message from the FIPLAB team: Memory Clean now has more than 5 Million downloads! We'd like to thank all our loyal users for supporting us for nearly 4 years! Memory Clean has won multiple awards during that time, including the MacWorld 'Mac Gem' and 'Invaluable Utility App' from Apple.

Please kindly help support the development of Memory Clean by leaving us an updated review.

This update has fixed minor UI issues on older versions of OS X. We'd also like to point out a few things to our userbase:

1. We have developed Memory Clean and given it away for Free since launching it back in 2011. Regular free updates have kept it the best memory cleaning app on the market. Your heartwarming messages of thanks have kept us dedicated to continually improving the app.

2. After literally thousands of happy users kept emailing us to find a way to free up even more memory safely, we spent time researching and developing 'Extreme Clean'. This is an optional paid upgrade to the free standard cleaning process. The Extreme Clean is a deeper clean and from a low memory state will free up about 1GB to 1.5GB *more* than the standard clean. As it is a deeper clean, it will take slightly longer to complete. The amount freed up depends on your Total RAM (the more RAM you have, the more it will be able to free up), how many apps you have open, current processes running on your Mac, etc. Extreme Mode can be unlocked from the 'Extras' tab in the app's preferences. NOTE: If you're having trouble purchasing, please visit this page: http://bit.ly/memorycleanhelp

3. We have in no way changed the standard cleaning effectiveness. The code is exactly the same as before. If anyone feels we have done this, we would be happy to send them an old version of the app. Simply email us via our support site: http://support.fiplab.com

To all our loyal users, we thank you once again for your love and support of our app. For those who decided to buy the Extreme Clean mode, thank you so much! This will help fund more development into making Memory Clean better and better for many years to come :)

Perfect

I have been using this app for about 3 years on a MacBook Aluminum from 2008 running on 8 GB of RAM and Yosemite, and it has definitely found a permanent place on my menu bar. The running size of this app is small and non intrusive at all. In the three years I’ve had it, the app has never stalled, and works nicely every time. It’s a great feature to be able to see how much RAM you have available and the time the app takes to clean it up is well worth the gain in performance after it’s done. The app has never bothered me with adware of any kind, except when there’s an upgrade, in which case, when opened for the first time after the upgrade, you see the occassional add for a few others of the developers’ own apps. The app is solid, so the upgrades don’t come that often and the advertisement for their own software do not bother me at all. Once you get past this screen, the app returns to your menu bar and there it sits quietly until you run the cleaner. All on all, fantastic app which I would highly recommend to friends and strangers alike and kudos to the developers on such great work. Five stars all the way.

Works pretty well

I have a 2008 vintage iMac thats been upgraded to Yosemite. This model is limited to 4Gb or RAM so when I have a lot of memory hogging apps open it will often show a lot of yellow in Activity Monitor, even with the standard Memory Clean installed. So I took a chance on the Extreme Clean option. It does work, as it keeps the memory in use display in Activity Monitor in the green most of the time. And this is not just a “visual gimmick”. I’ve noticed better responsiveness when toggling between apps I’vd used recently. That being said, there may be a little more lag when swapping a in an app that’s been dormant for a while. But overall It runs quite well.

The only issue I’ve noticed is that when the Extreme Clean kicks in, when set to run automatically, it can block what i’m doing in the UI if it happens to conicide just right and it happens to be something that may have to hit the disk instead of pulling from the memory cache. This has happened to me about 2%-5% of the time so it isn’t onerous but it can put a hitch in one’s step.

works fast when you click it with quantitative free memorary results according to the ap monitor

Apple store applications rep recommended I instal and use this memory clean ap from Apple. If it is so good and we need it then why not just slip it into the operating system like OSX. Dah?. So I told them from time to time I get the pretty multicolored small Apple spinning wheels on occasions that hold me up so the rep recommended this Ap to solve that. So far a week into it I think they know what t why are talking about because it cleaned up the memory to a very large degree judged by quantitative measurement of free memory on the Ap, works very fast, and is one click away from clean up. Downloaded very fast and it seems to know what it is supposed to do. The monitor is an help so you know when to give a click for a run.
Once again, thanks Apple and thanks for this ap but why not just put all the aps we need for safe efficient clean operation into the op systems and charge me $10 more and then we all have what we need?
