The BEST memory cleaner that I’ve found!

I don’t usually write reviews, but I like Memory Monitor a lot, and recommend it to everyone. If you are looking for a simpe, clean and effective way for keeping managing your memory usage on your computer, look no further. I’ve been using this app for over a year now and whenever my Mac seems to be running a little slowly due to memory being tied up doing nothing, I run it’s ‘optimize’ feature, and BAM; faster computer.
Like I said, well worth a downlaod. The app helps me free up performance dips when they occur and for me that happens somewhat frequently. Easy to use, great if you are dealing with a lot of browser activity like I do.
Memory Monitor can also automatically optimize memory, which is a great thing to have as well! It is nice for systems that have lower loaded memory to keep things running smoother!
I’ve been looknig at memory management software for an older iMac which I still use a lot. After the success I’ve had with Memory Monitor I have installed it on all my Macs and have recommended it so many friends. Truly a great product, and the developer is quick to respond to feedback. Each update is only getting better and better!

Easy to use + it works great for me

Memory Monitor works as advertised. It is a graet way to manage and optimize memory usage of my Mac. And actually it is fun too.
The best featrue is when I am doing computer intensive tasks I’m able to see what’s happening with the memory . This allows me to see what applications are required, taking more memory than required (memory leaks) or what is not required.
I am a “multi-tasker” with many apps and windows and tabs open. This app helps me actively manage my multi-tasking as well, since I'm maxed out on physical memory. I keep glancing at the menubar icon. 1. When its fill level shows empty space, I can work away. 2. When it shows full, I click the Optimize button and watch the memory compression work its magic. 3. When I get high pressure notification, it's time to start closing apps to recover memory and stop the disk swaps. The Significant Memory Usage icons of the first tab help me decide which ones to close. There have been many surprise apps in this list. After that, I hit the Optimize button again and enjoy the faster speed. Used to do all of this with the Activity Monitor. Great app to help with productivity. Thanks to the developers.

Functional, but of questionable to minimal benefit on a good system

This app freed the most memory, in a (not terribly formal) test I did with four such apps. However, after several months of usage, I find that the results are not consistently practical, and this seems to be true of the competing products, too. The amount of processor time spent juggling memory around to try to squeeze out a few extra drops is rarely worth the slow-down, and I’ve experienced system instability since installing this product (in fairness, the competing ones also appear to have had the same result).

I can see this being useful for someone with very little RAM who is always running out of memory, and for whom this is the #1 problem. But for those of us with a lot of RAM, it will not relieve high "memory pressure", and the down-sides are not worth it running all the time, anyway. If you have 32+ GB of RAM and have run out, this app will not help you. You either have an excessive number of apps/pages open and need to close a bunch of them, or you have some runaway process or memory leak, and thus bigger problems than any such memory tweaker can solve. I probably wouldn’t use this except on a low-end laptop or old desktop that was limping along. On a powerful Mac Pro, it’s pretty useless.
