Work more productively by freeing wasted memory!
Memory Sweeper Pro is the best tool to free your memory and boost the performance of your Mac.
Click a single button, and your computer will speed up!
Every time you open a file on your hard drive, your computer uses up some memory. This is usually a good thing, but it can become full of stuff you don’t even need anymore… sometimes by more than half! Memory Cleaner gets rid of all this junk.
If you’re using an application and your computer freezes for several seconds, it could be because it’s busy freeing memory.
•3D modellers and animators
•Parallels Desktop users
•For everyone annoyed by slowdowns. You only need to click on “Sweep”. That’s ALL!
It’s the perfect way to work faster with ANY memory-hungry application.
HINT: 200-500Mb is a good average result. Usually it's enough to shake up computer performance.
And remember: if there is nothing to clean - it will not be cleaned!
Does what advertised
There's also another app that looks like it may be the same program with a different skin for $1 more called Memory Cleaner (or something). So I saved the buck. Plus lots of people were complaining about the other program and this one hadn't had any reviews yet when I bought it.
For $5 I don't expect anything magic to happen. But, with my macbook Pro (w/4g ram) This program helps me out doing intensive graphic editing
etc. Adobe programs leave lots of unclaimed ram and this brings it all back. Not to mention it seems to keep the OS running more smoothly and efficiently. I've had less lag since I bought/ started sweeping my ram. With OSX demanding a Gig to itself, this can be an extremely useful program. I don't know how effective it is if you have almost no memory though.
Works pretty well.
The app does what it's advertised to do. It works by moving your "Inactive" Memory to "free" memory.
Basically, Inactive memory is memory that was being used by a program, but then you stopped using it. That memory remains in the "inactive" state for a certain amount of time. this helps to speed up your application if you were to open it again soon. So, when the memory sweeper moves the Inactive memory to the Free memory, it's basically making it so that you can open different programs with the availability of more RAM, which is nice :)
Overall: Good program, especially for 99 cents this week :D
It works! Don
Well, it certainly works on my iMac -- only 4GB of memory and I work in CS5 apps… it's made a big big difference for me -- makes it possible to open and close the apps at will -- then sweep the memory and back to being able to work. Makes a difference after closing big files too. I paid $10 for it, and consider it a great investment. For $1 this week, it's a steal.
And, although it is true that the product doesn't appear on their website, I wrote their tech support with a question and got a prompt, helpful and courteous answer.
