What's New in Version 3.1.2
Fix for keyboard bug on iOS8
- Updated with new words recently added to the dictionary, including "crowdfunding" and "hashtag"
- Added support for custom URL schemes
- Fixed Word of the Day display issue
This is my favorite dictionary app. The presentation is downright gorgeous (I love the red circle they use as the logo)! The makers of this app deserve praise for skillfully finding a balance between being thoroughly detailed and being excessively bloated (as Fairfield's Dictionary app is). This dictionary sometimes offers clarification on synonyms (i.e.- the implicit difference between annoy, vex, irk, and bother), and this feature really helps you write with razor precision. The word of the day is also interesting, particularly the etymology comments. As an English major, I can't tell you how much this app has helped me in writing composition papers and formulating interpretations on poems and stories.
Features a broad range of obscure and new words! Lacks iPhone 6 support.
This dictionary app is by far the most impressive I have used because of the breadth of words it covers and the Word of the Day feature. I would really appreciate it though if this app could receive an iPhone 6/6+ optimization update to improve stability and reduce lag when opening the app and typing on an awkwardly shaped keyboard that was designed for the iPhone 5. Thank you very much for your consideration.
You know what would revolutionize this app? A couple of widgets for the drop down today screen attached to it...
1. Word of the day in the today drop down screen.
2. Ability to quickly look up a word in the today dropdown screen, instead of having to go into the phone and find the app itself.
