Purchasing a ticket is easy: select your trip & ticket type, enter your payment card information, activate your ticket prior to boarding and your device is your ticket.
Never lose your ticket again! Once you purchase your ticket, it will always be in your ticket wallet. Need to replace your phone? No problem - you can easily transfer any purchased ticket to a new device.
Riders who use the Corporate Quick Card and riders who transfer to Metro Rail should continue to use paper tickets from Metrolink’s Ticket Vending Machines. Metrolink will be implementing a variety of enhancements to enable these users to use mobile ticketing in the future.

Ratings and Reviews
Biggest flaw is the reliance on barcode readers at Metro rail turnstiles. They are slow and confusing to use properly causing delays and people almost dropping precious phones trying to get through quickly. So much for your “advanced” tickets, this needs to be done differently. I see people putting clear cases on their phone and sliding the paper ticket in there. Low tech, and much better than using this app!
The UI layout and some navigation is improved with this update, but it still requires multiple taps to see where trains are. Why can’t I save my station or preferred routes and click in with one tap the way you made tickets more accessible? Any why aren’t you serving this location data to other providers like the Transit app where it’s much more convenient to get at?
And the app continues to force my phone to full brightness and not let it go. I have to manually reset my brightness after viewing my ticket and switching to other apps.
Like the cable company, it’s easy to pick on Metrolink. I do appreciate the app is getting some attention. Keep trying.
Would be great if it were 1985
This app would be great if it were 1985. They push and push for riders to use the app but with so many people riding to Union Station LA and no support for subway use this is such a waste of time. That and the terrible UI/UX it is actually worse when the conductor comes to check tickets because it takes extra time for people to get out their phone, open the app, etc while he/she waits to scan the digital ticket. I wish Metrolink would spend less time developing a useless app and more time on keeping their trains on schedule. I would gladly use paper tickets in exchange for the trains being on time at least once a week.
Missing a lot of features
This is definitely a lot better than a paper ticket as you have less of a chance of losing or damaging it. The app gets the job done but it really needs some more things like schedules, current advisories and a Paypal payment option. Also, if you plan to use the Metro transfers you have to get them from the ticketing counters. Just ask, as it won't work with metro tap card readers. I have a monthly pass and I just have to get a tap card every month at union station.
