What's New in Version 9.1
This release has been in the works for a while, but OneDrive 9.1 is here! Under the hood we've completely rewritten the app, so we can bring you bug fixes, performance improvements, and new features faster than ever before. To celebrate this new release, we are rolling out the following features over the next couple of days to our Office 365 subscribers:
Note: These features are rolling out, so you may not see them for a few days. We want to make sure we don't introduce any new issues, so we are slowly releasing them to more and more users. No update will be required though!
Ok, that's not the official name, but it's easier than ever to go paperless with the ability to scan as many pages as you want and save those pages into a single PDF. In addition, you can now crop, rotate, or delete those scanned pages. You can safely retire that old scanner, it's services are no longer needed.
We've heard your feedback and know that downloading one file at a time is no fun and you aren't always connected to the Internet when you need to access that important file. We wanted to do something about that, so we are rolling out the ability to offline any folder in OneDrive and SharePoint. When the feature is enabled, you will find it by tapping and holding on your important folders then tap the new offline command.
Improved sharing capabilities
Ever wanted to only give someone temporary access to a file? Whether it's those confidential loan documents or your awesome cat photo collection, you can now create links that expire on a specific day. Whether it's a week or two years from now, just go to your personal OneDrive account, tap and hold on a file, tap share, and Link Settings to get started.
Discover interesting documents
Using a work or school account? We added a new view to help you discover interesting and relevant documents based who you work with and the content that you work on. Take a look at this personalized view by going to the Shared tab and sliding over to the Discover pivot. Let us know what you think.
There is more on the way. As always, your feedback is crucial to making OneDrive better with each release, so please send us any feedback you have.
Super Scanning feature is super invisible!
I hate to give onedrive itself 1 star simply because of the so called "Super Scanning" feature microsoft claims version 9.1 to have. I attempted to use it both with my ipad and iphone and the feature is nowhere to be found. I click on the '+' and select scan, The camera turns on and I have a <- back arrow in the lower left, Business Card, Document and Whiteboard at the center bottom and a Blue Circle button on the center right margin. When I click it, the image gets processed to a still document, from this point there is the word Upload in the upper right, <- Arrow in the upper left and Cancel in the lower left, but nothing to indicate how to scan another document. Cancel obviously does what it says, Upload uploads the single document and the <- button takes me back to camera to start over.
Once you are accustomed to interacting with Apple, You see just how little regard Microsoft has for it's customers, I am 35 minuites on a phone call where I've been transferred to a supervisor and have been sitting for 20 minutes in total silence, I know this call is going nowhere, I just don't have it in me to start from the beginning again and I have nothing else to do but see if Microsoft will pay for this call all night long. Sad.
I haven't been able to get in for 5 weeks. I try to open the app, but the logo pops up and then it crashes. Please help!
I will update this once it is fixed, because before the crashing started, I loved this app!
Update: I finally ended up deleting the app and re-installing it and now it works fine. But it didn't work when I had thousands of photos to upload while I was out of the country and I never heard from anyone from onedrive to help. It's working now, so I updated my rating
Great app. Better than iCloud
When I modify a file I notice that it instantly changes on my other devices. That's not been my experience with iCloud. With iCloud the files on my other devices sometimes don't update until later. Sometimes after a few hours, sometimes the next day. I really love the reliability of OneDrive. I plan to use OneDrive with all my apps that support it.
