Leave your tape recorder at home and record audio notes on-the-go. Capture it all in OneNote and add your annotations.

-- Powerful organization --
Organize your notes in a way that works best for you. Create, rename, search, sort, and copy pages, sections, and notebooks. Find your most recent notes quickly and pin the pages you use most. Secure your notes with a password and use touch ID to quickly access them.

-- Think together --
Share your notes with your friends and colleagues. Whether it's a party your planning with others, or a school project you’re working on with your group. Work together in a shared notebook at the same time.

-- Always with you --
Access your notes on your Mac, iPhone, iPad and other devices. Your notes are synced to the cloud (OneDrive, OneDrive for Business and SharePoint) making it easy to access your recipe notes on your iPhone at the store, your homework on your Mac in class, or your itinerary on your iPad during your trip.

-- Check these lists --
Create to-dos to keep track of your daily errands, groceries shopping, or travel planning.

--Write & Draw on iPad ---
Scribble your notes at a conference, write math equations in class or sketch your ideas. With a variety of pen colors and settings, you can create beautiful handwritten notes and drawings. Draw with confidence with "Convert to Shapes" mode: we'll automatically convert hand drawn shapes into crisp, perfectly regular polygons and circles.

Customer Reviews

Almost Excellent

My go to for taking and organizing notes for graduate school. It's almost excellent, there are a few things I would like to see improved.

I appreciate that Onenote support Pencil 53, but it doesn't perform as well as other apps that support it. Also, there are apps that do not support Pencil 53 but still are better with that stylus that Onenote. Sometimes Onenote doesn't register that I wrote a letter. Sometimes it has a glitch. I've resorted to using Notes Writer + to take notes on PDF files for class, and then importing them into Onenote for organization and review.

I would like the ability to lock the "print out" of a PDF. Meaning, currently, after I print out a pdf file that I've imported to Onenote, so it shows the file on screen, Onenote will occasionally recognize my touch as wanting to adjust the file in someway. I would like the option (maybe it's there and I just can't find it) to lock the file so I can only do basic functions like scroll or write on it.

Best Notes App Ever! Way ahead of the rest.

I have tried about ten notes apps and OneNote is the best by a Mile (1.609 km). Seriously. Most of these apps try to think for you, which typically constrains your creativity or makes you enter info the way THEY want you to. OneNote is like having a multi-drawer file cabinet with you with each drawer filled with files you have named and organized according to YOUR logic. And each file has as many pages as you want. And each page can be as long as you want. The ability to embed PDF files, pictures, sound files, and more on any page as well as draw sketches wherever you want on any page is pure genius. This is the most flexible notes app - period. I don't know why Microsoft doesn't advertise it more!

Works perfectly for my needs

I use One Notes every day, all day long. I take notes on it from business meetings, manage my projects, make task lists, embed pictures and graphics from white-board sessions, and share all my notes across all my devices and desktop computers. Its design allows free form note taking, letting me have multiple sections and information forms in the same space. The book, tab, page, entry system has been completely sufficient for me to organize different areas of my life and all the elements in those areas. This is a great app. I have also used Notes, Evernote, and a host of other note taking apps. This one seems to reflect how I organize my work better than the others.
