Best note taking app hands down

The integration with iPen functionality is seamless. I type my notes and screen capture from my laptop and thanks to OneDrive the additions show up quickly on my iPad where I can use my stylus to add handwritten notes and annotate photos or diagrams.

I have no complaints either about inserting photos or editing after addition that I've seen in some reviews. The complaints about inability to add text in the right places after inserting photos is simply failure to use text boxes appropriately. Photos can be added free form or inserted into a text field. I find that the latter does limit what you can do with photos but I don't see an advantage to putting them in the text box as opposed to placing the photo over a text box and bringing it to the front.

By far the best indexing of any note taking app out there. This will really help keep all my notes well organized when I come back to them while studying for boards.

Love this app, I could finally switch back to apple!

Lack of a good free word processor held me back from an apple tablet. I got a Microsoft surface and although awesome, it was too much computer for me! I needed basic. Once I discovered OneNote, I sold it and got an iPad mini. I LOVE onenote. It's basic. It's easy. I can organize so many things, all my notes are organized!! I love that I can easily incorporate recordings with a push of a button if I have to miss typing notes for part of a meeting/lecture, then I can fill in that area later based off the recording. Pictures easy to incorporate as well. My only hopes are that there is a good search function, and that moving the cursor to a specific letter in a word in a paragraph would be more precise and user friendly. It can be finicky sometimes to do that and I can't get it to go right where I want it always (whereas doing so on most other text on my apple devices is foolproof, simple and easy.) Excited to try the new update.

Could be a 5 star app, but the awful picture edition keeps it down

I'm a medical student, I always used Notability for my note taking, but wanting better cross platform integration I decided to give one note a shot. I use the app mainly to take notes during lectures, and to make summaries of material.
It really is a great program, I want to love it and switch, however the picture editing and integration is simply awful. You can add a picture and crop it once, but once inserted you can only rotate it or delete, that's it. I can't resize de image, make text go above or around it, etc. There is absolutely no option to customize or work with the picture. This is a huge issue for me, since I regularly take pictures of the whiteboard of ppt of the class or from books and insert it into my notes. I really love the program and want to switch permanently to it, but the inability to edit images makes it hard to use for me. Hopefully this will be fixed because i really like the program.
