Finally Up to Top Form for Mac!

I’ve been a compulsive note taker since I could write. I tried word for a while, but keeping track of all the documents was a pain. So when One Note came out I was overjoyed. It was my holy grail and I could transition all my physical notebooks to the ultimate note taking app. Since then I’ve tried them all, but none really let you write anywhere on the page which was great for my style, especially when it came to planing projects, trips, etc.

Then I transitioned to Mac and my OneNote world came crumbling down. Since my notebooks were all offline and sync’d via dropbox I had to move what I needed to the cloud, which I wasn’t crazy about from previous sync issues. I also lost tons of functionality and the ability to search (never really worked until last update). Now I can finally use OneNote as I’m most familiar with, sicne I was right on the end of transitioning to another database. I would have moved sooner, but even with the limited funcitonality is was steal leagues above the competition. That I I have probably hundreds of pages already in the app.

Now that MS has throw us mac folks a bone, I’ll glady continue to use the app and sing the praises of One Note!

Love It!

Being a college student, I am always looking for an easy and effiencient way to take notes. My first preference is always to write them, but because so many professors move through material so quickly, I have to type them; writing is simply too slow (at least, if I want to look at the notes again later). Then, about a week ago, I found OneNote on Mac!

I can stay organized with several classes in one notebook with the use of tabs. My favorite part? Bullets! The bullets are easy to work with and tab over for new subtopics. Then I can hit the return button twice to get it back to its original place. From my experience, only Microsoft’s applications will do that and this function is what makes me like their programming more for learning than Apple’s programs (though Pages is the best word processing application in my opinion).

So if you find yourself in need for a fantastic way to take notes, this app is it! Happy learning (or list making)!

The best app ever!

Since the time Microsoft released OneNote for windows, more than a decade ago, I have been using it and always liked it. I like it very much! The ease of use and the productivity it brings is priceless. I use windows laptop for work and use mac at home. Since I use mac at home, I always missed OneNote when working on my personal projects at home. But when Microsoft announced OneNote for Mac, I was ecstatic. Couldn’t thank Microsoft enough for this gesture. Since the first version of OneNote for Mac, up until now, they have made tremendous improvements to the UI and the features. Inspite of creating a OneNote for Mac, I noticed a huge gap and many differences between the Windows version and the Mac version. But lately, I noticed that with every update Microsoft pushes to Mac version, the gap between the Windows version and Mac version is becoming narrow. Keep it coming Microsoft! THANK YOU Microsoft!
