Please remove the quick filters button!!!
Why 2/5? I'm holding three stars hostage until they provide the option to remove the "quick filters" button that wastes a ton of screen real estate. This has been on their bug tracker forever and has yet to be addressed. Every week or two there has been an app update that I excitedly hope gets rid of that waste of space, yet here we are again, another update, same dumb button.
Actual review:
Ignore the fact that this is called Outlook, because this app is nothing like the PC version of outlook (i.e. stuffy and outdated). I've been a gmail user since the invite-only days, and I've tried all the mail apps on iOS. I expected I would try Outlook for a day or two before reverting to the Gmail app, just like with every other email app I tried before. Over a year later I'm still using Outlook and for most part loving it.
A work in progress...
The email works fine. LOVE the feature that separates your inbox view into two areas: Focused and Other. It does a great job with this, and when corrections are needed, it's easy to correct, plus it will create a rule for all future emails from that sender. It's a straightforward way of separating out the fluff from the important stuff.
The calendar needs more work, and while you can "make due" with it, you shouldn't have to. It should work like virtually all other calendars work, with the bells and whistles that we've all come to expect. [sigh]
Slow and Buggy on iPad and iPhone after IOS 10 Update
Since launch this was my favorite mail and calendar app on IOS devices. Unfortunately after 24 hours of using Outlook on iPad and iPhone 6 on an IOS 10 device, Outlook has become nearly unusable.
First, it's really slow when deleting emails, or when switching between Focused and Other mailboxes. Secondly, at random times, I see my emails duplicated and sometimes it feels that emails disappear.
Hope Microsoft gets on top of this soon. Contacted support and they went through the normal restart the app, reset the email accounts, uninstall Apple Watch app, but no impact to the above issues.
