Hero quest for solo
If the idea of reviving the old HeroQuest board game appeals to you, so long as you are not the GM and are content to play as a single character based on that game (though many different and improved versions exist here) then this is for you. What this game needs to make it truly shine and bring the old board game fun to the masses is multiplayer. So if they can get you to play the game with your friends, this would be awesome and worth extra money.
The game is fun
The game is fun and I loved playing it, but there is one huge problem. The developer never updated this to iOS 11. I have an old iPhone still on iOS 10 so I can play it still, but it would be nice to be able to play it on my new phone or even my iPad with its bigger screen. I’d give this 5 stars had it been updated.
Not bad but ....
This game looks pretty. In truth it is very shallow. The entire game consists of hitting attack, and deciding when to use a heal potion. Not really even much loot, same items dropping over and over. There is pretty much ZERO strategy involved in playing this game. Would have been much better as a true boardgame, dump the silly repair structure, maybe add some dice, more gear variety. Add all this to the nice graphics and there may actually be a game hiding here! The boss fights are really no different than any other fight, just a different picture. Oh and it crashes constantly. At least it starts you back near where it crashed. That is a plus. Fairly bored with this in a short time period. Shame it looks like a board game from the early 90's.
